Site upgrade

Thanks, Jeff. I'm considering dropping my ACE membership for CB membership. ACE is becoming more and more obsolete.

I definitely wont give up my ACE membership. Nor will I give up my CB membership. They both have their merits and their place in my life. Both have unique reasons that I give them my money that the other does not.

ACE does not have a killer site like this. But it does have the Preservation Fund and the Roller Coaster Museum Fund.

CB is much better without the ads. Need I say more?

My website - Zero G Thrills

I enjoy the fact that the Roller Coaster Rollback (TM) has been moved to the top of the home page. Too many times I just went to a interesting news item or a forum post and missed it.

I like the layout, but I'm glad I'm not alone in disliking the colors and especially the contrast of colors on backgrounds. It is quite harsh on the eyes indeed. This problem was emphasized when I left the new site, and it suddenly seemed so relaxing to view another site with calmer colors.

White on black, white on gray, and yellow on gray are very stressful to view. Please consider going back to black or other dark colors on a white or very light background.

Sweet, I like the new layout.

The one thing I really like in multi-page threads, if you click on "Scroll to new post" it will jump you to whatever page the post is on...before, it would just drop you to the bottom of the page you were on if it had no new messages on that particular page.

Yeah, since GTTP got .Net-ized ages ago with v6 of the forums it has been there, and for awhile I hated coming back here without that function.

Hey man, looks good. I might have to rejoin the club though cuz this black and white and gold stuff, while very appealing to my Pittsburgh roots, is a little hard to read.

I love the new look.
The site is nice. The color choices, like others have mentioned, are a tad bit hard on the eyes.
The new site looks great,I kinda miss the original look of the past year & a half though but the change is certainly good.

In three short years Jeff has really managed to turn the look & feel of the site from just a plain page with little,if any content structure to the well organized & wonderful site it has become today.

Thanks Jeff for all of your hard work & dedication to making this site one of the best places for coaster related discussion on the web & keep up the great work. :-)

Really like it lots Jeff! I'm proud to be a CB Club member and to support you and this site. I can't even begin to think about all the time you have put into making this site what it is today. Thanks! :)
Hmmm...I like the dark background, but for some reason the white text in the messages is hard to read. I think the problem is that the characters are not bold enough (which is why I am doing this post in bold...:), because I have used white-on-black text for decades and actually prefer it on-screen to black-on-white. The orange shows up just great. There is a problem, though: The login box labels at the top of the page are impossible to read; had I not been a CP Place participant (and thus familiar with the interface) I wouldn't have been able to get logged in.

Now I gotta go change the links on my page again..... :)

It's funny that you mention that, Dave, because I accidentally had all of the body text as bold Tahoma at first, then realized I didn't like it. That's when I went back to non-bold Verdana.

We'll work it out eventually.

I don't know why it disappoints me when someone else says exactly what I wanna say, only better than I would've said it....but it does!...;) Actually, considering the number of times recently that someone has directly asked "What the h*** did he SAY", it's probably better this way...;)

Love the new layout, Jeff. AND I'm glad I'm a CBuzz member and can change the colors. Being an old lady with bifocals, I was able to test a few of the colors to find the one that is easiest on my eyes. (currently using the grape color)

Only problem I had was trying to post a comment to the news section--specifically the news about the upgrade.

Yikes! You like the purple theme? I did that one kind of as a joke because it's so saturated it could burn your retinas. I guess I was wrong!

Hey I'm using the Grape Escape too! I like purple. It kicks pinks butt any day of the week! :)

Edit: Well make that I Was using the purple theme. I forget my glasses today and the Brightness of the color was hurting my eyes and giving me a headache. I'm using Cool Blue for now. :)

Jeff, what are the chances of the background being changed from those tiny alternating black and grey bars to something of a solid color? Perhaps even a user defined color like the choice of color schemes (awesome feature!). I hate to be a complainer, especially with all the hard work I can tell you have put into this upgrade, but that background honestly bothers my eyes! Apparently Im not the only one who is bothered by it. That jerk Nasai ( ;) ) said the same thing.
Thanks!!

I say keep it simple, alternating colors make things hard on the eyes. i like this layout but will take some getting used to. i hope it scares away some of the trash that occasionally comes to the page, the main page looks pretty involved. good job.
