Site plans for new Enchanted Village coaster released

Posted | Contributed by Jerry

Theme Park Adventures has posted the official site plans for a new wooden roller coaster to be constructed at Enchanted Village/Wild Waves.

In May, Enchanted Village (a Six Flags park)filed a permit with the city of Federal Way, WA, to build a 75' tall wooden roller coaster. Scans of the official site plans, filed with the permit, are now posted on Theme Park Adventures, the Guide to Six Flags Seattle.

Sweet!!!

This is great news for us coaster deprived souls living in the Pacific Northwest. A park with a wooden coaster within a few hours of Portland,Oregon is a dream come true for me!:)

I hope this doesn't hurt Silverwood or the PNE/Playland.Maybe this might persuade Oaks Park to build some wood with some serious competition coming from up north.

Nasai,I will be up to visit you more often once this thing gets built!

I can fix anything.....where is the duct tape?

Awesome!

It'll be great to have a nice new wooden coaster up here in the Northwest.

Six Flags is really fixing up Enchanted Village. It sounds like we're starting to have a somewhat decent park here!

fianlly! now i'll just take my 15 minute drive from my house and ride a woodie all summer long haha!

It's funny how many CBuzzers actually live in the Seattle area, but haven't posted until now! Wow!

Ron, you betcha! I look forward to this as well as the ACE appreciation day at PNE. Our lives are getting better, eh? I get to go toSFMW, SFMM, and KBF at the end of the month too!:):):)

Breaking out!

Oh man this rocks. Finally something good for Seattle. I wouldn't mind taking a trip up north whether it be CCI or GCI or hell whatever. Looks like this is going to be one awesome woodie.

Vekoma International would be a good guess, yes?

I wouldn't count on CCI building any woodie for SF.

Untill they are paid off for 2000 that is.

Chuck, who knows a little about that, but is not at liberty to say

Another report from theme park adventures is that there will be "several coasters" at the park by 2005. Where do they plan to fit them? After all, this is pretty much a regular sized woodie, yet it spans the entire eastern side of the park. Do you think that this was an accurate statement by theme park adventures?

Don't get me wrong, I am extremely pleased with this woodie for 03. And the more I think of 75 ft, the better it actually sounds!

Hey, where are the "Height Marks on Ride Tracks"?;)
P.S.-Would 680'X200' be considered a small, average, or large footprint for a wooden coaster?

It looks pretty dang long, hopefull in addition to the curves it will supply enough airtime, I know Cornball does a great job at that but since there is no word on who is creating it, I just hope it aims to please.

S Wilson...

The information at Theme Park Adventures in regards to the several coasters in the works over the next few years’ seams to be correct! I have a friend that works for Six Flags corporate office in Oklahoma and she has told me they already have permits for two coasters and plan to add 3 to that total by end of 2005. In regards to room at that park... there is plenty! The existing space is not used well to begin with and there is still allot of open space not being used. There are also a few "god awful" attractions that I'm sure will be torn down (most of them are never open anyway) to make room for new rides.

Hope this helps.

are there any actual pictures out there yet? info: coasterworks George Laibe is in Russia building the woodie for pax on the black sea. He'll be gone a couple of years. Might see him at IAAPA though. Any of you guys coming to Orlando for this year show?
Sounds awesome Brandon! Thanks for the info. I just hope that Federal Way gives Six Flags some breathing space as far as height goes. The height limit in Federal Way is 125'. Do you think that there could be some plans in distant future to expand the park, you know, buy more land. I drive by there a lot and there is a lot of forest surrounding the park.

Just out of curiosity, do you think that after they put in a new steel coaster, they will take out the wild thing? As much as I have liked that ride over the years, with six flags owning the park, it seems more outdated seeing at what six flags has done with other parks.

The interesting thing about this situation is that Six Flags does not own the land; they are leasing the land from the previous park owners. Now, my sources tell me the gentleman who previously owned the park (and who still owns the land), had feverish plans to expand the park and bought several additional acres. In addition he already had several coasters planed and approved with the city. Those plans and permits have been transferred to the new Six Flags ownership.

There are also some things I don't know that will surprise all of us. Six Flags is a very "forward thinking" company, and I'm sure they didn't by-out Enchanted Village to keep it a "75 acre boring kiddy park". Just trust me,... there will be some big news in the upcoming months and some huge construction and expansion within the next few years.

P.S. I am working on putting together an overhead picture view of the park outlining the land they lease (land they can work with), plus where the new coasters are planned.

Robocoaster,

While I couldn't tell you whether with will be a small, medium, or large footprint for a coaster, use this as a guide. A football field is roughly 300 feet in length, so it will be longer than two football fields and about 2/3 length of a football field in width.
