Silverwood-9/20/03-Taters&Tremors

On September 20th, the Wild Ones Coaster Club is sponsering the first annual Taters & Tremors event. The cost is $40 and includes admission to the park all day, all-you-can-eat lunch, free pop all day, and an hour of ERT on the 2 woodies in the morning. There is also a potato decorating contest (hence the "Taters" part of the name) with the grand prize being a 2004 Silverwood season pass. I hope some of you will come and make the event great. The deadline to sign up is August 1st.

Group discount on hotel accommodations?

I called around for group discounts for this year's Coaster Alley Convergence and found that what was offered wasn't all that great [10%, maybe] and that I had to guarantee selling a certain block of rooms and pay for the unsold rooms if that quota wasn't met.

You'll find better deals on Priceline.

A random Mooshter's Dawntionary listing: Coffee [n.] a person who is coughed upon.

Will I be disqualified from the potato contest if I use more than one? Can I use new potatoes, or do they have to be Russets?

A lot of us are planning on camping at the campground across the street, so I don't know about hotel group rates.

You can use as many potatoes as you want and decorate them in any manner you want. Just keep them family friendly is all we ask. I can't wait for this event. It should be a lot of fun getting to ride the 2 woodies non-stop for an hour.

Darn. I guess that means my H.R. Giger idea is out of the question.

I checked out mOOSH's link to the Silverlake Motel. It looks like a nice enough place. I'm considering staying both Friday and Saturday nights.

I won't be able to go to this but it's great to see my home park on coasterbuzz!!

I'm not sure what the H.R. Giger thing means, but maybe it's best that way. We're heading over Friday morning and going to Riverfront Park in Spokane Friday afternoon. Then we will stay Friday and Saturday nights. Still not positive whether we're camping or hotelling.
