Silver Dollar City cuts Buzzsaw Falls

I was on midwest information guide, www.midwestinfoguide.com, when I saw a tribute page for buzzsaw falls. It seems that during the off season SDC cut buzzsaw falls from the line up of great rides.

Isn't that crazy. It's been discussed around here before some. We're all wondering what will be replacing it.

First Drop mentions the closing of Buzzsaw Falls & says what's replacing it, including the layout. Look for something geared more towards the family. I think it looks like fun, but I'm sure some thrillseekers will launch into a tirade when they get the details.

Any idea why Buzzsaw Falls was removed at such a young age?

It comes down to ridership vs. upkeep cost. Strange, huh?

Did the maintenance really become that much in such a short time?

So it's an S&S Family Launched Coaster? :)

I won't miss BuzzSaw Falls that much. I never got to ride it, but most reviews said the coaster section was too short, aswell as the lines. If you aren't getting high ridership numbers, and the cost to maintain the ride is high, what else could you do but replace the ride?

Mamoosh, did you see the layout of a proposed S&S family thrust air in the IAAPA coverage?

Should be interesting with that back spike...

Man....I wish someone had a scan of that...my dad has my First drop 1000 miles away :)

olov - yeah, but I don't recall it having a back spike. I seem to remember it being fairly low to the ground.

I'll see if I can dig out that issue and scan it for ya, P ;)

...and FWIW, I liked BSF better than "my JtA"...but I wasn't consulted on the decision...;)
