Silver Comet

I've never heard anyone talk about this CCI on the boards. I'm going next week. Its my first CCI. How is it? Airtime? Speed? How does it compare to the other CCI's? Any reviews or comments would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! PS If you have links for pictures post them!

It's a very nice ride. Smooth, with fun transitions and some airtime. Also has a few good laterals. It's not the wildest CCI around, but it is an excellent ride that is a lot of fun. It's also a great ride for multiple rides, it doesn't wear you down or beat you up.
Agreed, silver comet is a great CCI I have ridden it about 7 or 8 times and it has just about everything in a great ride.

Laterals, speed, air time, great woodie.

yes, silver comet is a great ride, i just rode it today and i got some intense ejector air in the back, i have never been stapled or forced to tighten a seatbelt on this coaster, the back is a much better ride with less intense laterals and quite a bit of air time, if you want intense laterals ride in the front
Not only is it a great CCI, but it's also the BEST wooden coaster in all of Western New York! Our club loves it soooooooo much, we have an annual event there every year called...... SilverRush! It's always the Sunday during Labor Day weekend, tons of fun, and lots of ERT.
The SilverCOMET has just been retracked (although it really didn't need that much) and is flying better than ever. Great ride, terrific start, thrilling middle, and a blow-you-out-of-your-seat ending!
If you can go there on a hot day, wait until the sun goes down (or you can ride until the sun goes down) and the tracks start to cool, she can really fly then. If you're looking for some great air-time, this is it! The last leg of the SilverCOMET is the best for air-time, comparable to that of the world reknown Pheonix of Knoebel's Grove.

See you there! Just don't take my front seat! ;)
Definitly an awesome ride! It tends to run a lot better and faster in the evening than right in the morning, but that doesn't mean its not a good ride then, either.... but yes, It is a great ride and you will LOVE it to death, especially with it being your first CCI.... :) .. I ended up making more trips to MFI than SFDL this year because of it, I can't beleive I waited 3 years to ride such a wonderful masterpiece.... You can bet I will get a season pass to MFI next year :)

Are you going that day? Or just joking?

It depends on the weather, so far it looks to be a good day, so my wife & I will most likely be there.
I know I'm listed as WNYCCmember, but since it is in the heart of WNY, you can pretty much bet that several of us will be there, hogging either the front or back seat.
Don't worry, I can give up my seat (once in a while) ;)
Just look the the guy with the black cap and blonde tail in line. That'll probably be me.
Back to your original question; " How does it compare to the other CCI's?"

IMO, there are no bad CCI's. Well, except for the Villian at SFWoA, that's only due to lack of proper maintenance on the part of SF.
I've ridden the SilverCOMET, Hoosier Hurricane, Cornball Express, the Villian, & Twisted Twins aka Twisted Sisters. All CCI's. Only the last two Twins & Villian are so-so (both owned by SF), the others are fabulous! Many of my friends have gone to ride others such as Shivering Timbers, Sky Princess, and BoulderDash, and they loved them all!
If you want to compare the SIlverCOMET to another coaster, you'd have to put the Pheonix and Twister at Knoebel's together. Fast, hard, and full of excitement!

great coaster lots of airtime
