Silver Bullet Loop

From the renderings of Silver Bullet provided by Badnitrus, it looks like the loop will be very high off of the ground, almost similar to an Arrow cookie-cutter loop. I know this is only a rendering, but if the loop really is going to be that high, why didn't B&M design the loop to be larger, like they do on their other coasters?

It may be just me... but I think it all has to do with physics & G-Forces.

With that height that the coaster is, if the loop was lower to the ground, the only way the coaster would safely make that loop is if it had a much larger circumfrence (ie: the loop has to be bigger), so as to not put too many G's on a persons body.

That track is over the water. Maybe something has to go under it?

I kinda hope the actual configuration will resemble what "Keith" ( ;) ) created. It would seem that with a shallow first drop, the ride would get faster and faster towards the end. Those corkscrews remind me of my favorite part of the Vortex at PGA.

It's all about clearance.
Anyone else find it strange that a coaster called "Silver Bullet" has yellow track and bright red supports? Is this really what the coaster will look like? I know the trains are silver (with red seats and yellow restraints), and I think the red and yellow looks great, but it just doesn't fit the name of the ride very well.

If they wanted a "Silver Bullet" flying around the track, they should have picked black, or maybe a deep blue for the track and/or supports. At least some type of a more muted tone would work, allowing the "Silver Bullet" to stand out more.

Were you picturing a Huss Enterprise on coaster track or something?? :)

Danimales - it's a model...IIRC colors have not been confirmed.
Although I am not sure if the track and supports will be red and yellow, I would take it that the trains would be the bullets in this case. The park already confirmed they are "chrome plated."

And here's something to think about. Jaguar changed from red track to orange. Montezooma's Revenge changed from all yellow to green track. Just some fodder for the Silver Bullet color conspiracy theory. ;)

Knotts Halloween Haunt- Everyone has to go sometime....

I think that after looking at Keith's pictures, the coasters all fit together great. I really hope they don't change the colors, because they look so good with all those bright, stand-out coasters in the background.

Knott's Berry Farm: The park of a different color.

Although I like the riot of colors that Knotts has been doing lately, I think they are overdoing it on the yellow (If yellow is infact the chosen color for SB) What about mauve...chartreuse??

Fate is the path of least resistance.

I agree that more "metallic-looking" colors would be more appropriate than yellow and red. The chrome-plated trains sounds like an interesting concept, though...
Yeah, I'm really hoping they'll try to blend it in better with Ghost Town with colors like Danimales suggested. Or like Rob said, just leave it metalic. Unpainted woodies are the norm now, a metalic unpainted steel looper would be pretty cool I think, at least in this case for something called Silver Bullet located in an authentic looking ghost town.

I don't think they make them out of stainless steel though.

This is the sort of the "color" scheme I was thinking of, looks pretty cool I think, and would look great for SB:

I guess there are two ways to look at it.

1. Paint the whole thing Silver, like jomo said, really making it the "Silver Bullet."

2. Emphasize that the train is the "Silver Bullet." Paint the track and supports a dark blue, black, or some sort of earthtone, to make the train stand out more.

Regardless, I like the colors that are currently shown, but the yellow and bright red would seem out of place in Ghost Town, not to mention for a ride called Silver Bullet (aside from the train being silver).

The helix at the end reminds me of the one on Talon - tight and low to the ground, or water in this case. It should make for a very cool ending. Looks like another CF/B&M winner.

I know this is asking ALOT, but this would be the ultimate way to theme it into blending in perfectly with Ghost Town, give it sort of these industrial colors and theming, somewhat like the Tarantula in Wild Wild Wild West:

In response to the first question, I don't think they ever make really large vertical loops on inverted coasters. Look at the batman's, montu, and others. they are proportional for safe G-forces, yet on seated coasters, the loops are alot larger (look at Kumba's height to its loop, then Montu or a batman to the height of their loop.

maybe its just me though

and badnitris did a bad a$$ job on those. I wish i had that skill.
