Construction continues on Knott's Berry Farm's Silver Bullet as track segments and supports arrive. Several footers for the ride have been poured. Meanwhile, preparations for RipTide continue to move forward.

Why is it called the silver bullet if the ride is Red?

Maybe the trains are silver?

I would add that there are some photos of track and supports at the fabricator in Southern Ohio posted on www.pkiunlimited.com.

Man I hope those pics are before the paint job! ;)
This ride will not open until late 2005 from what I've learned. Why is there such long construction process with this B&M? Is it the land preparation or what?
You've learned incorrectly. It's supposed to Open on Christmas Eve 2004.

Ahh. Thx Cdrpntdrgstr.

Still though, 8+ months seems kinda lengthy to me compared to some other B&M's.

Not all that long if you think about other coasters. The two Superman's at Great America and Great Adventure last year took around 8 months or so from time the track arrived till opening day. Track for those two parks started showing up around August/September of 2002 if I remember correctly. They didn't open until April/May of 2003, that right there is at least 8 months.

IIRC the ride will have blood red supports, brown track, and silver/chrome trains.

edit- Hmmm...pics on another site shows red supports and a piece of red station track. I have a hard time believing both track and supports will be red.

I guess we'll know soon enough. In the long run, does it really matter?

It will if we have to listen to the complaints.

And the complaints about the complaints. ;)

If this were another SF parking lot coaster, I would agree. Or even if it were being built in the Boardwalk section of KBF, I'd also agree. But being that it's located in one of the best western themed areas of any park, I'd personally prefer that it blended in better with it's surroundings.

Bright red clashes with the rustic beauty of Knott's authentic Ghost Town, but being that this is B&M goodness, I won't mind or complain too much ;o)
