Y'all realize you're not really the first to ride....right? Maybe the first AFTER the official opening ceremony.

It pretty much is the first and second ride...

I guess this is for the snooty von snoots who want to fulfill their philantropic duty.

Fate is the path of least resistance.

I think you guys are missing the point about what this is all about. It's gonna raise a lot of money for a charity.
^ Exactly. I could care less who rides first. If someone wants to spend $2000 for charity for the first "public" ride, then they're more than welcome to.

On another note, it cycled today.

I wasn't missing the point and I'm glad the charity will get money. I was simply making the point that these [gracious] people will most likely not be the first riders. Its a safe bet that the ride's designers, engineers, top park brass, and a ton of employees will have already ridden [not to mention 72 water dummies!] ;)
Oh to be a famous water dummy. Get sent to ride rides first. Get flung outta my seat when problems arise. Thats the life for me:).

I just hope I *get* to ride the bullet next year. Gotta get to Solace...

I think you missed the point, Moosh. The point is... wait, where am I?

Oh god...you don't know either?

Did you water dummies fall on your non-existant heads again? ;)
Hey Mike,

Boblo is gone.. get over it. Go to Knotts or something. ;)

boblogone's avatar
I will, sometime shortly after December 7th if not sooner. ;P

You can't go sooner, Mike. Remember, the auction winners are the first riders!
You're missing the point, Moosh. :)

I didn't this weekend ;)

Mike can go to Knotts any time he wants to, Moosh (within operating hours)....says so right on his Knotts pass, LOL...

Now as far as going to Knotts AND riding Silver Bullet....that's another thread...;)

Finally, sorry to disappoint the REALLY geeky geeks (ubergeeks), but it's NOT about first rides, it IS about raising money for charity. And if you need a tax deduction, it's a good way to get one...;)

Children's Miracle Network usually ends up with most of my charity dollars, that way the gift keeps on giving, since they fund a piece of my program that keeps ME employed...selfish philanthropy? ;)

Shouldn't they auction of the much more coveted LAST RIDES of the night? Everyone knows you become a star if you get the last ride of the night.
