Does anyone still get that "butterflies in your stomach" feeling anymore? If so, what rides give you that feeling. I just love Raging Bull's and Apollo's Chariot's first drops in the back seat since they deliver it in such large doses. Dragster's and Ka's launches used to, but they don't anymore. Anyone else enjoy this feeling?
Some coasters used to, now only drop rides like a S&S Turbo Drop gives me that stomach dropping feeling.
Not too much anymore. I think the last ride I still got nervous for was Power Tower Turbo Drop, but that was probably more than a decade ago. Roller coasters aren't intimidating...they are just enjoyable to me at this point. I know I'm about to be taken through something incredible and there isn't a reason to be nervous or anxious about it.
My first few rides of every season, the butterflies still hit. Especially if I'm going to ride the big baddies like Toro, Nitro, Steel Force, etc. it is like my body has to readjust for the season. It also seems to be worse in colder weather, but I haven't figured it out. I cheat though: I take Dramamine so I can tolerate more for longer periods of time.

Some times I get them on a ride that I've never ridden before. Many times I get them on a coaster type or manufacturer I've never ridden before. There's nothin like a first time!
The butterfly sensation seems to have popped up in quite a few of these airtime topics lately.
I do remember that on my first trip to Cedar Point (2001?) Power Tower was right at the top alongside Millennium Force and Magnum on the list of what I was most excited to ride. The only drop towers I had been on to that point were 2nd-Gen Intamin, which I greatly enjoyed. Power Tower was probably the most underwhelming thrill ride I've ever been on. Bad case of anticipointment. No butterflies, not even a caterpillar or cocoon.
The 2nd-Gen Intamin towers are still my favorite flat ride for that reason, just ahead of Giant Frisbees. Not sure why, but the Gyro-Drops don't give anywhere near the same kick as the earlier iteration.
The trick was to surrender to the flow.
I get butterflies before riding and during the ascent on any drop ride. Love the drops.
Really powerfull launchers still give me that feeling, TTD, Ka, Xcelerator. Boy I miss the launch on XLC.
As far as rides that give me butterflies really bad before, during, and after, put me on anything on top of the Stratosphere tower and I'm terrified. I still ride them (Even all by myself), but they terrify me. XScream by myself in December caused me to have bruises on my lets from pressing my legs up against the restraints so hard.

Might I suggest taking Ginger pills instead. All natural, works wonders, no sleepy side effects. In fact, if you get a nice buildup of ginger in your system, you can go on a week long trip and not have any nausea issues.
To each his own. Me, I prefer Mary Ann pills.

Yeah...it depends on the ride. I still get that feeling from high-speed launches (75+ mph) , but most drops don't give me butterflies. It relies heavily on g-forces. I blacked out on the Intimidtaor 305, for example, so I guess that's kinda beyond butterflies. It all depends on the g's for me.

I wonder how many here will understand that reference
