CP in 2002, get to the point

Signature does not mean best ride or favorite ride, it means most recognized or recognizable. And with that I agree that American Eagle is a symbol for SFGAm, if not that then Shockwave, it may change in the future to be the Bull, but that is still too young. For SFGAd, then I would say GASM has that same symbol. Hershey could be the superdooperlooper because for me I remember seeing it standing there as the only coaster when visiting the area as a kid. Cedar Point is of course Magnum, though MF may change that eventually, but not yet. And PKI is the Beast and no Son of will change that. SFNE could be the Cyclone because of history, and the only other place I have been would be PGA, and I cannot remember one for it.

Any resemblance to living or
dead people is purely coincidental.

Definately Lochness monster for BGW. even though they have 3 other great coasters. nessie is still the one that the GP associates with BGW and BGW still placed Prominently in many of thier TV spots and print ads. of course in my heart it;s apollo but in reality the coaster that makes people thing BGW or the coaster that people think of when thinking of BGW  is still nessie.

I read in a local newspaper that CP's where Magnum, Raptor and MF, Kings Islands's where Beast and Son of Beast and SFWoA's was X-Flight, Villian and BKF.

"I'm eccentric, I can do whatever I want"- Rat Race
All IMO since they are no clear cut answers unless the park has some survey backing these up or something:

CP: MF (don't know how its done this, but its replaced Magnum in just two years)

KW: Thunderbolt. The other two woodies are close. PR may make it there someday

PKI: The Beast

BGW: Alpengeist and/or Apollo

Defining a parks "signiture" coaster is best done by those who havent been there. I goto SFMM often and could make a case for a handful of them. Before going to Cedar Point, I was excited to go ride Magnum, MF, and Raptor. We chose NOT to go to Kennywood because they tore down SteelPhantom & PR wasnt done yet. The only coasters I know of at PKI are BEAST & SOB.
SFMW-Medusa
PGA-Stealth
PKD-Hypersonic
SFNE-S:ROS
IOA-Hulk
Busch-too many
SFKK-Chang
Dorney-SteelForce
Spa Land- Steel Dragon2000
Knotts: GhostRider
SeaWorld: Kraken (cant dispute this, its the only one)
If you have never been to SFMM, what have you been dying to ride there??? Probably NOT Collosus or Revolution, though they are structuraly representative of the park. Goliath, S:TE probably. X, if its uniqeness isnt duplicated everywhere, WILL be IT.

My other car is a Giovanola!

LoadedG is right, thats what i ment by signature coaster when i started this post.  The coaster you go there for, like most people go to CP cause of MF.
-----------------
Montu, God Of Coasters
Some would say that Vortex for PKI b/c before SOB, it was the easiest to see in the park. I know that Im going to be eaten alive by counterarguements, but I think that PKIs Vortex is its signature ride (like i said, before SOB). Beast can hardly be seen throughout the park, and unless someone is a coaster lover outside of the tri state area (Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana), not a lot of press has been put on it. So people go to the most visible coaster, aka SOB and Vortex.

all about PKI
the Beasts` Den

Yeah but when you go to PKI, you went to ride the Beast.  I can see how SOB caould be it now cause alot of people go there for it.

Montu, God Of Coasters
Believe it or not, Viper is still SFMM's signature coaster (at least in the eyes of park officials). The park hopes for X to be the new signature coaster. Here are other signature coasters at other parks:
KBF - Ghost Rider
PGA - Stealth
SFMW - Medusa
STOT - Texas Giant
Kennywood - Thunderbolt
DP - Steel Force
SFGAdv's signature is still Medusa and SFA's is probably Batwing now.

WDW - Space Mountain

BGT - Montu

Nitro: The Most Explosive Coaster on the Planet explodes at Six Flags Great Adventure in 2001.

the corkscrew picture of Viper at SFMM is one of the most recognizable coaster pics ever..though i cant see it being the signature coaster, cause it was a near-replica of the Great American Scream Machine...id say Superman: The Escape is its sig. coaster right now.

"Ahh Beer. My one weakness. My Achilles heel, if you will" - Homer Simpson
"Whoooa, that's hot. There isn't a man alive who wouldn't get turned on by that. Well, goodbye!" - Homer Simpson
I would have to agree with Viper being SFMM's signature coaster since i usually go there for it.

Disneyland: Space Mountain

DCA: California Screamin'

KBF: Windjammer(jk) Ghostrider

Las Vegas: Manhatten Express

"Thank you for challenging the Raging Bull. We hope you enjoy the rest of you're day, here at Six Flags Great America."

Alpengeist: BGW

Kumba:BGT

American Eagle:SFGAm

Knott's Berry Farm Cuba ~South Park

We may like Magnum better (some of us at least don't argue please :)  ) but MF is still the "signature" coaster at CP because that's the one that they're advertising all over the place.

A bad day at Cedar Point is better than a good day at work.
