Shrek headed to three Universal parks

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

Universal Studios announced plans Wednesday to open a new theme park attraction this summer in all three of its parks, reuniting the three stars of the animated hit "Shrek" long before the planned 2004 sequel. "Shrek 4D" will be housed in a castle-like building, and guests will be given a pair of "OgreVision" glasses to wear as the screen and the theater come alive with sensory elements.

Nope. Shrek was created by "Dreamworks".

I was told that Disney almost had a hand in the animation but it never materialized.

Dude, Shrek is too cool to be Disney. This sounds pretty sweet actually. Maybe I'll check it out.

Lets not get carried away Xtreme. Disney has come out with some cool animations recently.

"Monster's Inc"

"Lilo & Stitch"

"Toy Story 2"

Chitown, I agree wholeheartedly. The three you listed are some of the best movies ever period. Beyond cool! **watch Spirited Away** Shrek is a fun little movie as well, so I'm really looking forward to seeing this.

Spirited Away was great! And so is Shrek.

Remember my face, I'll dig your grave...

Spirited Away isn't a Disney film...it was distributed by Disney
While I look forward to this one, it unfortunately replaces the Alfred Hitchcock exhibit at Universal Studios in Florida. When I was there in November, I was told that the closure of the Hitchcock exhibit is because the owners of the Hitchcock name were raising the royalties that Unversal needed to pay, and Universal didn't think the extra amount was worth it.
I think that this ride would fit very well in the Lost Continent section of IOA, but their really isn't anywere to put it.

schwa-ray, no one said it was. I was just making a note of it since it was an excellent, animated film (distributed here by Disney, along with the Princess Mononoke... incredible as well).
