Should ya...tell them to Can it?!!

Now be honest, I know many of you have pulled out of the lift hill with a train packed with screaming riders. Many times those trips up the lift hill can lead to more thrilling ride, constant irritance, or your classic broken ear drum.

Whatever the case, tell us about your trips up the lift hill? Did all the screaming have an affect on the ride? Do those girls have to much anticipation? Was your ear intact when you hit the brake run?

Here's one of my experiences:

I not gonna be rude, but those Japanese scream all the way up the lift hill! You wan't to turn around and tell them to can it. Now notice that your focus is on the other riders up the lift hill of what was then the tallest traditional coaster.

You can choose A)focus your mind on blocking out the yelling or B)turn around and tell them to can it. Whether or not you choose A or B, (I choose A because I prefer to show a more compassionate sense of mind. Regardless of your choice), first time riderswill forget that there is a 308 foot plummet ahead. Oops, too late, you forgot!!!

By the end of Steel Dragon's first half, you have yet to recover from the first half because you lost your mind up there, 32 stories ups. you have no right to complain because now you're hollerin' louder than the rest!

At the end of ride, I ended up greeting three Japanese girls behind me because they're ended up making this first time ride more thrilling than any other.

Now how's that for a twist?

I like riding with enthusiasts who are hyped up, clapping, and generally having a great time on coasters. Many times, we "scream" (more like toned down screaming) on some of the cheesy rides just because it's fun. It's a completely different experience when riding with a coaster train full of enthusiasts.

But periodically I get next to, or in front of teenage GP girls who start in with the high pitched squeals that last through the entire ride...and many times they aren't "fear" screams, just a REASON to scream. I understand the adrrenaline release one can get from screaming, but, sheesh!! My eardrums literally hurt after riding near a squealer.

The worst experience I have ever had was going up theWhizzer's lift hill at SFGAm. These two girls were screaming as loud as they can, it was so annoying! Then one of them actually said something like "do you think were hurting his ears?" I was about to turn around and scream YES!

I hate it when girls make that shrill, loud scream. My god that's annoying.

Is that a Q-bot in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

My greatest experience was riding with my grandma... Yea, she screamed as loud as I ever heard a teenage girl scream. It was maddness.

Do you bleed Blue?

One time while riding Hersheypark's Comet in the front seat, two kids behind me in seat #2 must have just seen the Aflac commercial where the duck is riding Vancouver's Coaster. All through the ride they were constancly yelling "Aflac! Aflac! Aflac!"

Talk about anoying.

Kind of hard to take a post as objective if a park or coaster name is part of the "user name"

One time at SFNE it was right at park closing when my friends and I got on Superman. There were about 50 people in the station who were all really hyped up about riding so my friends and I started a slow clap that got faster and faster while the ride-ops were checking the restraints. We managed to get everyone in the station to clap at the same time with us and our train continued the clap up until the first crop. That was my best ride and experience on any coaster! It was exhillerating and got me pumped up for the ride.
I scream all the time on High Speed Thrill Coaster at Knoebels. ;) No seriously, I like to see how many stares I get getting off... :)

If at first don't succeed, find out if the loser gets anything.

This isnt quite as annoying as it was funny.

We were on the lift of Apollos Chariot, and right as we crest the lift, this lady screams her lungs out right behind us. Of course, the ride doesnt drop right away, and as the track flattened out she shut up and just said a quick, "Oh!". And then we dropped.

It was so funny.

I love it when I'm riding with people who are scared. When I sisterhad her first ride on Medusa and Viper at great adventure, It was so much fun, that I wanted 2 buy a ride photo of her reaction and my cousin's who rode it too. All those times she got me mad, It was worth those 3 min.
I enjoy listening to people mumbling to themselves during the slow ascent (and especially the 5-10 second wait at the top) of a drop ride.

"ohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygod..."

Theres a big difference riding with enthusiasm and someone screeming in your ear.

Chuck, who hates it except when the screams are genuine :)

On Zonga I'm sure people were screaming, but my ears were blown out by the top of the thing. I thought I had heard a loud lift before... this was so loud I could only hear about 20% of my normal hearing rate. It is that bad. I proudly wear earplugs now! ;)

One time at the great escape On The comet this woman decided to take her 7 year old son on the ride and the Yelled so loudly I could hardly even hear the ride of the Lift Hill!!!
I was riding spiderman at ioa and everyone in the car was screaming so loud that it drowned out the sound system. I hate it when people scream like that.

I hope they kill that iron yuppie. Thinks he's so big. The great homer simspon

I can't really say this was annoying, but it has to be the best time I ever had in line, just before it was our turn to get on. It was at Busch Gardens Virginia and we were in line for The Big Bad Wolf, the op was insane, he announced first, "Welcome to Jennifers Busch Garden" I looked at my husband and said we're in trouble! He then said "you're about to ride the Lock Ness Monster, you may not return after this ride!!" Again being in line for the big bad wolf, I looked at my husband and just shook my head (thinking, should we really get on this ride!!) We got on and heading out the last thing we heard from him was "Enjoy your ride on Apollos Chariot, and don't get mad at me if you never make it back!!! Now this was at the end of the night and we were the last ride on big bad wolf, but he was really funny and scary at the same time!!!

So it's not just other riders who can get to you, it can be some of the ops also.

Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today. "James Dean"

Sheesh...at SFoG, most of the girls on the freefall rides (not all by any measure) are total squealers. If you get a group of them together on Acrophobia, and you can hear them pretty much anywhere in the park! And it's worst if you are on the tower with them, because the shrieking gets worse when the chairs tilt...makes for an interesting ride experience however.

"Enjoy your record-breaking ride on Millennium Force"

You've never heard anyone scream untill you've been on TTD....you get guys givin those high pitched ones....and the girls are magnified by millions....at least that's how my ride was. I think every single one of us in our train of 12 (twas opening day) were screaming the whole 30 seconds...and after we got off...cuz it's such a huge adrenaline rush you have all that energy...since u didn't use barely any on the actual ride...and you just get hyper and slap happy...lol
My sister screams like a freakin banshee before going over the drop of Nitro. She claims she doesn't like airtime...i find that IMPOSSIBLE! lol
