I heard a speech today on violence, and the speaker mentioned that there had been a shooting at SFMM. I never heard of anything like this, but it's probably true.
So, if it's true, when did it happen, and what was the extent of the shootings?

I heard about this one time, I think it happened in the parking lot... Not entirely sure though...
There have been several instances over the years at MM were there has been weapons discharged. This is usually the result of two rival LA gangs meeting at the park. Security has a well designed plan where they shut down the all the rides and attractions. They then form a human moving "wall" and walk everybody out the main gate. A announcement is made to the media to inform the public " if you dropped your kids off at Magic Mountain this evening, go pick them up now." This hasn't happened too much of late, mostly due to a much beefed up security force.
P.S. You do go through metal detectors going into the park,and there are signs at the tram stops and along the perimeter fence outlining what can and cannot be brought into the park. They have a pretty good idea of what they're looking for.
The last one I remember that happened was about 2 years ago in Gotham City. It was all over the news.
I heard the shooting was right near the entrance two years ago. That's why they put metal-detectors by the entrance.
