Shoot the Chute dips

On some shoot the chutes, there are dips in the middle of the drop. Why is this? Is it for airtime, or some type of deceiving effect?
At the shoot the chutes at PGA, there is one of those dips. As we went down, I got some of the most intense airtime in my life. I was so scared! I really thought I was going to fly out of the boat.

Those who think young say Pepsi please!
Just like a double dip on a roller coaster, it provides mad air.

Does CCI know how to make a bad coaster?
It may also be there to create an extra large splash just before the boat hit's the bottom of the drop.
There isn't much of a splach there, it's all about the air.

It's all about the air, that's all I can say. I think if there was no middle dip in a shoot the chute ride, I think you wouldn't get the great airtime feeling.
That's why I love shoot the chutes! It's all about airtime! Snake River Falls at CP doesn't really have one, but the one at PKI does! I love that one!

Anyone who thinks you won't get a lot of air w/o the double dip hasn't ridden Perilous Plunge!

What is a shoot the chutes ride?  Is that a log flume ride?  If so the double dip on the Loggers Run at SFGAm does nothing for me.  I prefer the straight drop of the Yankee Clipper(or whatever god awful corporate name they gave it now)

Splash Water Falls (I think thats it's name... the one by Deja Vu and Demon) is a shoot the chutes ride. The Logs and The Boats (thats what I used to, do, and always will know them as) are just log flumes, or a log flume with boat shaped logs.

Yeah Mamoosh!!! Thats EXACTLY what I was going to say!! PP is a monster when  it comes to airtime.
I have only been on a hand full, and none of them have the dip. From all of your responses, I look forward to riding one in the near future.
