Shockwave Pics.. - CoasterBuzz

I pulled the picture of the latest deconstruction of Shockwave and put it on my website..

It's the first news article, just click on the thumbnail..

So the only picture you have of it is what SwimmerKev posted in this thread ( http://club.coasterbuzz.com/forums/thread.asp?ForumID=11&TopicID=26147&page=1 )

Do you have permission to use his photo? If not, remove it from your website.

Who are you? The website police? I see no copyright.. Besides, he offered it for others to see... it's public domain..

You are using that picture without his permission and that is copyright infringement and he can sue you for it. You won't get much sympathy around here since most people here are really adamant about copyright abuse.

First off, it's not copyright abuse... Until he applys for a copyright on his photos.. Its not..

Secondly, I'm not trying to make money of the photo. Which, in turn, means it's not copyright abuse.

And Finally, whats the big deal anyway? I'm just trying to replicate information throughout the internet for others to read. If he has a problem with it and asks me to remove it, then fine. I'll also offer to give him 'credit' for the photo..

Other than that..

First: You are new here, what gives you the right to get pissy with others?

Second: Why did you open a new topic for a picture that is ALREADY in a topic?

Third: It doesn't matter if your making money off of it or not around here. Your using it, and it isnt yours. Simple enough.

Ok, First off, I didn't realize that subjects were limited to one thread.. If that were so, why are there 5,000 'guess whats going in Magic Mountain' threads?

Anyhow, I'm not trying to piss anyone off.. I'm just trying to say that it's not 'infringement'...... Just being a little defensive , thats all..

And finally.. I'm not the one getting testy anyway.. It's the people that don't understand simple copyright laws that are pissing me off :)...

Simple fact is.. if someone wants an aimage copyrighted, they can do it.. And pay the 75$ per image to register the image with the US patent office.

Copyrights are always implicit by law. You do not need to register something to copyright it. It is more legally binding that way.

What about just exercising a little common courteousy and asking for permission to post the pic? I'm assuming you didn't by reading your earlier comments. (of course, everybody knows what happens when you assume)

Meanwhile, I have sent an email requesitng the use of the image.. I agree, I should have done this to begin with.. If the request is denied, I will remove the image.

FYI - All the track after the first loop has been removed. Just thought I would let everyone know.

First off, copyright exists the moment a work is composed. That's the way the law works.

Second, plugging your site in the forum is spamming, grounds for getting banned, and your site blacklisted from ever appearing in our sites section.

Third, I hate people who lift content. I loath it. Someone works hard to create something with little personal gain and then someone steals it.

We hardly knew ye.
