There is alot more where this came from as well - pics of Big Bend, etc., I just found this site.

That's great footage. It's interesing to look back and see all the pomp and circumstance a coaster opening had back then with the band and cheerleaders. I wonder if the legal people would allow a bunch of cheerleaders on the catwalk now right next to a moving train though.

It's a just a shame Anton didn't make more coasters. His rides aged a LOT better than any of Arrows did.

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.

^ Agreed.

Even a £/$ 100 million ride or attraction doesn't attract half that sort of fanfare or excitement these days, we're so spoilt.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

It was still very much a new idea then to have a *looping* coaster - hence a lot of the so-called pomp and circumstance.. The terrain Antons have aged really well. The loops are just plain perfection...and the airtime is none too shabby either... :)

Big Bend and Zambezi Zinger are two I wish I could have gotten....at least we still have Whizzer.

^You can still get Zambezi, gator:

I would love to get down there and ride it again! It was Whizzer without the ADD medication. Airtime!

I rode Mind Bender yesterday nearly 20 times. For me, my favorites always start out good, then seem to get better and better the more I ride them! Can't wait to get back now!

Dude looks like Ron Burgundy
