No, it won't if they landscape properly. If anything shockwave was a bit of an eyesore this new coaster will look attractive as most B&M's do. It would be nice to see some intamin steel though.
well thats a personal preference i guess. I'd rather see arrow track towering 170ft into the sky with seven loops....
but hey... whatever
I think it looks kind of cool. The track just ending in mid-air like that. I drove by on yesterday, and from I-94, it looks kind of neat!
Anyway. I heard stock in Tylenol just took a nose-dive 'cause of this...
:)

i'm all for it it would go nice in the place of american eagle. that area is a great location for a large new ride and a new themed area. while they were at it they could build a new woodie on the far western spot where american eagle now sits. they could even put the entrance and exit by the southwest teratory auditorium.-----------------

Well it certainly isn't taking them much time to dismantle this thing. Let's just be happy that it isn't being scrapped.
Speak for yourself, as someone who lives in a possible destination city for that ride I am very sorry it's not being scrapped.

LOL. Don't be so frightened :)
Definitely looks like part of the East River Crawler is hanging out with the remains of Power Dive...

Let's just hope they are "staging" the ride there until they have it's new home ready....
Here's to hoping that the Crawler does not go the way of the SkyWhirl......$500 for a basket? That sounds like a deal....now I just have to convince the wife it's a "good investment." ;)

Ondrew, what did I say about the American Eagle!!!!!?
That is one of the best rides I've ever been on, it's classic wood, and an replacing it with an Intamin Giga, or anything else, would be a disgrace until the Eagle is much older than it is now.
Man, those pics almost brought I tear to my eye. Yeah, I haven't exactly liked it for a few years now, but it's a big landmark. Seeing it just trail off into thin air like that... oh, it hurts. I've seen that magnificent beast towering over me every year for most of my life. Yeah, I'm glad for the flyer. Actually, I think these photos of it half-dismembered are more sad than simply not seeing and not riding it next season will be.
I think it's sad to see any coaster go down, period.
(sf)great american i think i remember something about banishment but i never liked the ride and it was always too boring to me. after the first drop its slow and only has a few little hills and not much air time. thats if you can get used to being squashed into the tiny space they call a seat.
this is just my opinion of corse so take it with a grain of salt.

It's basically the Lobster (original name).....Julie has an older picture of it here: (thanks Julie)
http://home.attbi.com/~geoff2222/sfgam/lobster.html
It has always been a crowd favorite at the park...whether called the East River Crawler or Lobster, it consistently has the longest flat-ride lines.
technical name: I don't know
what it looks like: five arms come off a center tower. each arm has several cars sitting on the ends of steel fingers at the bottom.
what it does: each car rotates independantly on the end of each finger. all of the fingers rotate around the point of connection to the arm during the ride and all of the arms rotate around the tower. peridocally during the ride the arms are pulled up in the air.
overall: you've got lots of spinning and lots of unexpected vertical movement all mashed together to give a one of a kind, disorentating experience.
