Sheikra's chain box thing

I was riding sheikra the other day and noticed that at the top of the first drop theres a clear box with chain sitting in it. I couldn't get a good picture, but I was wondering if anyone knew what it was for.

That's what they use to stop and hold the train on the first drop.

I don't mean on the track. I mean below the track on the turnaround before the first drop, there's a clear box with what looks like extra chain. It swings back and forth (and actually bangs around quite a bit) whenever a train drops off.

They are probably anchor chains. On the B&M's, the MFG suggests (insists?) that the train be chained down once the train is past a certain point on the lift, and probably the same procedure if it is on the turn around. That would be my best guess.
My guess would be that if the train stopped on the end of the lift and did not drop the train would be chained into position for safety reasons during an evac.

The thing I was referring to is barely visible in this picture, right about where the chain return intersects with the far track.

After the train goes down the drop (and the whole drop vibrates) that box makes a lot of noise...
