Sheikra holding brake?

Has it been confirmed that Sheikra will have a brake on at least the first drop? That element, along with the SLOW pre-drop turn were half of Oblivion's fun.

Schwarzkopf shuttle loops...The most possible fun in 36 seconds.

I watched the video very closely and I could not determine if it had a holding brake or not. When the train was going down the second 90 degree drop, for a moment it looks like the next train is waiting at the top or the first drop.

We know that the other Two rides of this kind have a holding brake. We have no reason to believe that a Dive Machine would be built without one. My guess is yes, at least on the first drop.

Maybe not for the drop after the MCBR, imho.

I think there's a good possibility of one being on the first drop. It would probably be more fun to drop right off on the second one instead of holding for a variety of sensations on that drop. I wouldn't trust the animation if you're looking for any form of holding brake, midcourse brake, lift chain, etc. Not sure why they didn't do so, but that's one of many reasons I prefer animations from Keefington's Virtual Rollie Ride Factory.

That's why I am asking, since the animation didn't feature any chain/brake/etc. on the track, and the press release also doesn't say. For anyone wondering, Oblivion's drop is excellent and airtime-filled. BGT is in for a great ride in any event.

Looking at the photo of the second drop, that gets too steep too fast for there not to be a holding brake, I think.

It makes sense for the vertical dive to have a holding brake to get the sudden tip over without excessive negative G's. But as I understand it, that isn't the first dive on this coaster.
From the video you couldnt really tell if it has a holding brake or not. Im sure itd be just as fun without one. But im curious, exactly how tall is that Immelman to come right after a 200 foot high hill?
It may have one... I am researching that now... if you want to know. I know BGTKing will have it posted at FTN... http://www.floridathrills.net *** Edited 10/29/2004 1:10:48 AM UTC by figment***
