Shaft of Terror

Does anyone have any pictures of the cars on Shaft or Terror or any more further information than RCDB has on the ride. It seems like an interesting ride with supposodly 6.3 G's.
Shaft of Terror? Sounds like M: TR's sister ride...

The ride is better known as Tower of Terror in Johannesburg, South Africa in Gold Reef City.

I must admit, the title made me giggle. :)

Any giggling will be replaced by utter awe at the first drop of this ride... a sudden 90-degree twisting drop into a tunnel.

As far as I know, no one on this board has reported riding it yet.

True, but you can find a recent trip report on RRC. Read it here via google.

On RCDB, the track length for M:TR is listed as 6 inches. And I cannot access the photos without a login and a password!

Could someone explain that...

Here are three pictures from that insane ride. Note that these pictures were taken when the ride operated with lapbars only!

Meanwhile the cars are retrofitted with OTSR.

Another interesting tidbit about that park is the fact that their Schwartzkopf shuttle looper (Golden Loop??) is the former White Lightnin' at then Carowinds. :)

So, I have a credit for a coaster in Africa.
