Shadeless Parks.

I was just looking at youtube videos of Fun Spot America in Florida. And, as I looked at the videos I didn't notice a single tree. I figure in Florida that has to be ungodly hot. As a red head I burn like a lobster. So, I have an issue with no shade.

I thought Michigans Adventure was bad.Does anyone know if the park at least offers free sunscreen? Or has a cooling area where people can seek shade? I know at Great America in chicago they actually put in shade Oasis, where youcan cool off on a hot day.

I also notice that certain areas at holiday world are shadeless. just wondering if anyone else has an issue with shade.

Yes there are trees, and most of the kart queues and coasters have shaded queues.

You'd hate it though. Both parks combined have only built four big coasters in the last decade, and one of them was used!

You could always cool off in a park's waterpark.

Only the queues for the kiddie rides that no one rides are shaded.

Huge sections of Sea World Orlando are shade less as well, and the walkways are white, which makes it worse because all the sun just bounces right back off the ground. It legit sucks in mid-July.

You must've never been to a park covered in asphalt on a sunny day then.

Parts of any park are going to be unshaded; goes with the territory of being outdoors.

I think Jeff just slung enough shade to cover you for the entirety of the trip.

I do prefer a park with some shade. It makes it more enjoyable for me. Even though Hersheypark has an abundance of shade, I recall burning my feets at their waterpark one hot summer day. It did suck.

But, dude, you must be the most miserable person On The Planet. Your "hatred for life" flames are high, and they burn hot. No one wants to get near that, because it hurts, just like a shadeless park under the red hot sun.

I swear to you, 100% truth, if you would write about the pleasures of life, and focus your posts on things you love, you would feel better. You would also spread less negativity around. People might actually take you seriously. You'd be an enjoyable contributing member, rather than a running joke and a punchline.

Sure, things happen that people don't appreciate. Sometimes a park does something, offers something, or does not do, or does not offer something that may upset you as an enthusiast. Mention them if you must, but don't let them echo around in your head. You become what you think about. Life's too short to want to feel bad.

You literally get one chance to live, you might as well enjoy it as much as you can.

Treeless parks and no mention of Dorney? We are slipping...

^ At Dorney there is the old walkway down by Thunderhawk that's goes back to Steel Force with a good amount of shade.

I feel the same way about SFA. Not a lot of shade there either.

AND no one asked what park Dorney's trees came from. What has happened to Coasterbuzz?

Parks should plant maple trees so they can make fresh syrup for PANCAKES!

My problem with MA is that it was once a park with an abundance of trees. In fact, in the 70's and early 80's it was heavily wooded. The park will say that the trees were taken down by storms. But, I know better than that. A majority of the trees were taken down by the park, and the lake you see in front of the wildcat was not there in the 70's, it's man made.

The park has torn down even more trees to make way Funnel of Fear, Beach party, and their lame pint paradise. They have however added shade trees along the corkscrew frontage. but most of the great trees and pines that were plentiful in the park are gone. The only other shade is around loggers run.

If anyone has been to the park in the 70's they know what it was like.
