It looks like SFWoA is moving the Boardwalk piece by piece right now to the other side of the lake :) From what I can tell the two "achors" are at:
By the pearl diving and shop area and down at the bottom of Hook's Lagoon on the right side of the boating dock.
Interesting of how this will play out. It does now clear up the "squished" area that was between the two pathways for the new land. And it also now gives a COMPLETE walking circle for the park....YEAH!!! This should help crowd control out a lot down by RWB (we hope.)

Oh, so it's that big of a project? :(
So that means for the remainder of the season there'll be only one path from side to side? Man...

You're upset that the redundent path is being relocated to form a complete circle(which everyone had cried about for a year now) around the park?
What's wrong with walking the path running 20 feet away parallel to the "old" floating bridge?
It will be done by the end of this week I think.... Most of its already built, they only need like 3 or 4 more pieces moved into place. Not that big of a deal.

Haven't you people heard of the boat ride that takes you across the lake?
That was probably the best alternative for a complete circuit. Since some of the time they had both boats running, and at a high-capacity, it wasn't all that long of a wait from the marine side to the ride side that you could take the ferry if you were in that general area instead of taking the 10-mile hike to the boardwalk!!

....Summer is only a short 91 days long. How much of that time are you going to use at the amusement parks??

It suprised the crap outta me the first time I noticed it was gone. I was in line for Batman and I glanced over and I didn't see it and well for a second I didn't know what to think. Could it have sunk? Frantically I scanned the lake and there it was, all the way on the other side connecting the Oriental area with Happy Harbor.

Lol... i think it was Tues. i was walking tot he other side, and apperently some idiot forgot to close off the boardwalk with gates b.c. i was just strolling across it and then BAM... it just ended! They had taken a peice off without closing it to the public/employees, lol!
I stood there in mass confusion for a few minutes debating weather to swim it or turn around ;)

Not at all, but if you want an explination for the sad face, then these are my feelings.
1. It would have just been cool to see the park in action with a full circle being as this will be my only visit this year.
2. If it truly is a season long project as you suggest, then it makes no sense to do it midseason. Now the path that exists there will have to handle twice the traffic (not that it's that big of a deal with SFWOA's attendance numbers ;) ) - this is why I tend to believe SteveWOA's assesment a bit more, it's no big deal to have it gone for a week or so to improve the "flow" of the park as much as this will.

"Could it be that they are going to start on the hyper during the season and needed to divert guests from that general area?"
From the rough..and I mean VERY rough layout shown of the coaster it might be (exept for the turnaround). More or less their main goal first here is crowd flow. On the other hand of diversion though it could be they want to start work on their new "land." They did mention last year it would start before the 2002 season is over. But that land they mentioned was also before the annoucement of the coaster or before knowledge they would be allowed to build the coaster. So I'm wondering if a) Will they do both? b) Go with just the coaster or c) REALLY work on the Wild Life side (crowd flow and plans) this coming off season? We'll see soon.

WOW They moved that thing fast. I've already heard that the crowd flow has dramatically improved? From talking to a few people there is a lot of people now over by the whale stadium, penguins, and Pearl Diving (before there wasn't...even with the boats). I'll see first hand for myself today :)
