Gotta go with G-Money on this one. The Blue Streak does look pretty silly. I haven't ridden it since I was a kid, so I can't really make a call on how the ride experience has changed.
There seems to be a lot of animosity towards "traditionalists" on this board lately, and it's understandable (too a degree). They're extremists, and there is always a backlash against any extremist movement. However, as "enthusiasts" (wether you label yourself as such or not, we all are), we should be thankful that there is a group of people around that have a vested interest in the preservation of a unique period of American History.
No, it wouldn't "suck" to have dividers on the T-Bolt, but I honestly don't think the ride would be the same. A lot of the character of the ride stems from those Century Flyers, and I really wouldn't want to trade that for a solo ride.
Just my 2 cents for what it's worth.
Blue Streak is an extreme example. Still while cosmetically very different looking, I don't find the ride to be particularly better or worse than it was before.
But if something simple like seat dividers were added to Thunderbolt, would ACE continue to call it a classic? Would it be any less enjoyable?

No, it wouldn't be considered a "classic" by ACE. Would the ride be any less enjoyable? Hard to say. It depends on wether or not you like being squished into your ride partner, and how much you value the feel of the ride as it is. It's all so subjective.
However, either refitting the existing cars with dividers or replacing them would change the aesthetics of the ride. I really wouldn't like that. It's really cool for me to go see and experience an old ride (that I admittedly have sentimental attachment to) in action instead of in pictures, but that's just me. Everyone has different opinions for different reasons, and that's what makes the world go round. Oh yeah, money and women do that too.
It's kind of ironic that the T-Bolt is being used as an example, when it's a redesigned ride to begin with.
