SFWoA Update

I just called SFWoA and got some bad news. They will not be opening on the 4th of May anymore, now it's the 5th. This sucks since now I have to wait an extra day that seems like a year.

One day is nothing compared to the delay of maybe an entire month.

Add to the fact that the 4th is a Friday.

Boo hoo... got to wait till the weekend... boo hoo hoo

Some parks don't even open until close to Memorial Day, let alone the first weekend in May.

No, I'm afraid to say I'm not kidding. If you don't belive me, call them to see for yourself.

Yeah, but I, for one, am quite upset by this. They announced a long time ago that the park would be open on that Friday. I made plans to go there FOR that friday (NOTE: I live in DC, so I had to buy an airline ticket). The only good flight I could get to be there opening day (nite) was at like 8 in the morning, so I had to use a vacation day off work. Now after buying *non-refundable* tickets, they change the date, so I'll be stuck in crappy Cleveland for a whole day with little to nothing to do. Sure, I'll find a way to entertain myself, but things would have been better if they either stuck with their original date, or simply waited till later and announced their plans when they were sure.

Did you ask how much individual seasons passes are?

I meant that you could not wait an extra day. Some people don't get a new coaster for years (like the guy from Australia) and you can't wait an extra day!?

This was announced a while back on their "updated" website. The park is not open Fridays at all in May (except Memorial Day weekend), unlike last season.

And Hostyl- you might be surprised what "crappy Cleveland" has to offer. There's some neat places to visit around here- the Zoo, the Flats, shopping downtown, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.... plenty to keep you occupied while waiting for X-Flight. But at least you'll be there opening weekend.

At the risk of going off-topic, what exactly are "the Flats"? I saw some mentions about them on here a little while back, and ever since then, they seem to have been haunting me (references on television, news articles, etc). Little help? Thanks. ;)

The Flats are a nightclub/restaurant/entertainment district right along the river in downtown Cleveland. Many of the establishments are located in renovated warehouses and factories.

The RTA Waterfront Line provides access along the East Bank of the river instead of finding parking spaces.

In addition to the "Flats", try the "Warehouse District". It's just above the Flats, in downtown Cleveland, and its a hotbed of nightclubs and restaurants.
I know exacly how you feel. I can't wait to try 6Flags WoA &/or Cedar Point now that I rode all the coasters @ PKI & Coney Island Cincinnati.
No, I'm still going to go. And Ray P. I had pretty much decided that I would check out the RnR museum and some local "nightlife". It was just not in my original plans. But the hostyl one knows how to adapt :)
