"Grit your teeth, bear the load. Enjoy your ride on Thunder Road"
Hmmm, this story doesn't sound right. SFWoA doesn't get all their power from one source. I know this because on July 9, 2001 the power went out at SFWoA. I was there. It was the grossest thing I ever saw. There was sewage running down the midway. Mind you, not all the power went out, only the portion of the park that received it's power from Aurora township. Apparently, this was the source of power for the sewage. Anyways, because my family became ill from the raw sewage, we had to leave. When I complained to guest services, they simply said "too bad, we can't refund your money, come back again real soon." Needless to say, my family refuses to go back. They even refused to give us free tickets to come back with.
The park's excuse was because all the power in Aurora township went out, it wasn't six flags fault.
Therefore, I don't believe the first post.

Welcome back riders, hope you've enjoyed your ride, push down and then pull up on your lap bars and exit to your right, walk down the exit ramp and enjoy the rest of your day here at Paramount's Kings Island.

BTW, last year I was at the park when they closed only 1 hour early and they were handing out free passes! Therefore I don't believe Pointman's post. ;)

Lumpy Very sad considering they came all the way from Georgia and Chicago.

Stop the lawyers, not the rides!
AURORA, Ohio -- Six Flags Worlds of Advenute closed early Monday morning due to a power failure.
Shannon Sidocky, a pubic relations representative at the park, said the park lost power at about 11:45 a.m.

Sidocky said the power would probably be back on by 3 p.m., but management decided it would be better to shut the park down for the day since it would take a while to get everything up and running again.
Guests will get a pass to be allowed into the park another day.
Here is the article from WKYC.com, for all you who cant get the link to work.

I know things are hard to understand this year. Years in the past if this would have happened/did happen. They might not have given you free admission back in. The BIG change this year is the park management. They got a new head and a few other people that have REALLY changed the parks attitude and it shows this year. This is just one step they are doing to show customers they do care. Sure they could have said "sorry it's not our fault so you won't get any money from us," but thankfully they didn't. Are things perfect this year. No, not for any park. But all parks are always trying to constantly improve. And I think most every park this year is doing a GREAT job. I'm sorry about the guests who didn't get to experience the great things SFWoA had today though. Hopefully everything will be back tomorrow in full swing :)

Yep, I was there alright, it stunk that it happened, and the free ticket for a return date there does nothing for me since I live hundreds of miles away and that was my only trip there this year. On the positive side, they refunded in cash the parking fees (if you asked) at the parking toll booths on the way out.
And, as an additional positive note, I am (somewhat) glad it happened...it got me to the airport a few hours earlier and I was able to waitlist onto an earlier flight and get home to my darling wife...because, as it turns out due to weather conditions in Chicago, my original flight ended up being cancelled and that was the last flight from there to Chicago for the night from Cleveland...
