SFWOA Question

Can anyone tell me if fanny/waist packs are allowed on all of the coasters and rides at SFWOA? I tried sending them a letter to ask and all I got back was "no loose articles are allowed". I don't consider that to be a loose item though.

Last year they allowed carry-on soda bottles on X-Flight of all things. I kid you not. Then again, knowing how inconsistant they are, it could certainly go either way. Even Cedar Point allows you to have them on Dragster though, so I can't imagine they'd have a problem with it.

Odd, then, that on the shorter and slower Xcelerator fanny packs are *not* allowed. Period. I hate inconsistency!

Fanny packs have been Ok on all coasters at SFWoA EXCEPT X-Flight, in my experience. That carry-on at X-Flight really surprises me.

The X-Flight crew was real strict when I was there last year. I had to leave my prescription glasses in the station which I wasnt comfortable with. I even said I would put it in my button pocket but they wouldnt let me.

Fannypacks should be fine on all the other coasters.

Arena football has arrived in the Windy City. Go "Chicago Rush"

Just last week they tried to get me to take keys that were secured on my belt loop off my pants. I couldn't even get it off, so the guy said that instead of holding the train up for 5 mins, just to ride and not say anything. I thought that was a bit excessive.
I'm not surprised in the least when it comes to X-Flight's no loose articles rule,SFA has the same restrictions on Batwing & there are lockers adjacent to the ride for storing your loose items.

SFA's got the strictest rules regarding fannypaks on coasters, the rule was first enforced on Two face but has since spread to all thew coasters in the park.

They're very strict up at XF. They don't let you bring on anything except your shoes and clothes, thats about it. I would think it would be obvious why fanny packs are not allowed. First off, they're in the way of the restraint, which is a no no. But then again you enthusiastsIf you were to bring one on XF, you'd just be putting all your weight onto it when you're "flying" with a hipbar not even close to your waist. As for the keys on the belt loop thing, would you know the employee's name that let you get away with that? They were not doing their job correctly and you could've got injured believe it or not. I'm sure there's nothing like flipping onto your stomach and getting keys jammed into your stomach. Sorry Jeff but I just don't think I believe you. But hey maybe that did happen and you did break the rules. What an enthusiast you are hey??
Mmm... don't worry about it Chitown, I always leave my glasses in the station and nothing has ever happened to them. I would be more uncomfortable taking them on the ride.

There has been a huge crack down on items brought onto The Villian to. You are no longer allowed to bring ANY loose articles onto the ride. This includes everything from purses, fanny packs, loose articles of clothing, hats, glasses, etc. Absolutely nothing.

Now what I find especially dumb about this new rule is that if a rider with glasses has a strap that securely fixes them to your head, you must remove them and put them on the farthest side of the platform yourself. This means the entire train must be unlocked so you can get up and do it yourself. Some things just boggle the mind.

I have never had any problems carrying my wastepack on any ride, including Dragster. :-)

That is wierd about Villian though. I wish they would make up their minds what they want to do. Wasn't Villian the coaster where the woman lost her cell phone and it hit somebody in the face? I could be mistaken, but I heard the story a few years ago.

Just yesterday on The Villian I was allowed to wear my glasses. So they haven't became all that strict..

I was able to wear my fanny pack on everthing, but X-Flight, on opening day. As for glasses, invest in a $3 strap. The only rides I've had to take them off on were Xcelerator, Supreme Scream, and Power Tower (a few years past).

It's the inconsistancies that are most annoying. That's one of the reasons I tried writing them a letter asking about it so that I could get back something in writing to bring to the park with me. I can understand them not being allowed on X-Flight, but I don't see a problem with allowing them on all the other coasters.

This is a question I had also. I went to Wal-Mart yesterday and one of their bright yellow signs caught my attention. It was a Hip Camera Pack and the sign said "GREAT FOR ROLLER COASTERS" so of course I bought it. I bought it because I want to take my camera with me when I go to CBC and SRM because I want to take LOTS of pictures since it will be a LONG time before I ever get to go back to either of them. I hope neither of these parks have problems with hip packs.
I've said it before, but I'll say it again here. As a diabetic, I will NOT wait in a line that "requires" me to surrender my glucose meter and candy. They're secure, they won't go anywhere, and they will not interfere with the restraints, even on X-Flight. Waiting in a line without them is downright hazardous to my health.

I might need to reconsider my resistance to using "handicap" access if this kind of stupidity continues. I don't consider diabetes a handicap, but with stupid rules like that problems arise that need to be worked around.

I had to leave my fanny pack with my husband while riding Batman last week. That was the only ride I recall not being able to wear it on, although I didn't ride X-Flight, Serial Thriller and Mind Eraser.
I've never been allowed to take anything on X-Flight. The crew has always kept a good tab on making sure that no one takes anything on the ride when I've been there.

Raging Wolf Bobs isn't worth the walk all the way over to it either. Villain is a great ride though and I consider it the best wooden coaster I have ever ridden. Last car, 1st seat is the best ride on the train. The Villain ride ops wouldn't let me wear my glasses on the ride but they let me hold them for the ride. It was really dumb especially because I just put them back on after the train left the station anyway.

7 rides on villain this year
