SFWOA IN 2002

I have been checking WOA website and no information is posted for the 2002 season.  Anyone know the date the operating season starts.  WOA stated no new coaster or major attraction next year.  Are there any small investments or attractions for 2002?

As far as seeing a new mechanical ride, The Casino (Chance Trabant) was supposed to be reinstalled near the Viking Boat and Scrambler back in 2001, construction delays made it impossible to get it done, but I assume it could be there by opening day 2002. (its currently sitting in the employee parking lot)

The rumor going around is that Wolf Bobs will recieve new trains, which is what it so surely needs, and possible an upgrade to the braking system which will allow multiple train operation.

They have significantly retracked much of the ride, but the problems were the trailered trains, which need to be articulated in order to manuver better.

As reported in First Drop, the Legend's old Gerstlauer train has been sold to Six Flags Ohio to be installed on the Raging Wolf Bobs. This is interesting, as Legend only had 1 train, meaning RWB will either go to 1-train operation or an additional train will be purchased from Gerstlauer.

Going to one train wouldn't surprise me since they only ran one for most of the year anyway.  However, one of the Villain's old trains is sitting near RWB, so they already have a second.

I was just going to mention that, Scott.
I think you are all forgetting about the 2 new whales they will be recieving.  Along with a new Tiger show to add to the already impressive line up of animal shows.

Coasterman Mike - who for one actually enjoys SFWoA's animal show

Total rides on Phantom's Revenge: 49
Total rides on Pittfall: 255
Total rides on Superman:UE : 633

and lets not forget the skating rink in the parking lot!  ;)

I have to admit that Raging wolf  Bobs train had the plushest seats I've ever encountered. While the ride was amazingly bumpy, it wasnt painful. I found myself laughing uncontrollably at how bumpy it was, making my whole body jiggle.

If SFWoA patrons want to get rid of it, I would be happy to swap it for Psyclone at SFMM. NOTHING will ever make that ride fun.

My other car is a Giovanola!

Wait a minute...even if SFWoA uses the old Legend train and the old Villian train on RWB, don't they both look different (despite the fact that they're both Gerstlauers)?  If I remember from pictures correctly, Legend's old train did not have the black, old-fashioned looking bars on the fronts of each car, and the plastic body came up higher on the fronts than Villian's train.  Maybe they will retrofit the Legend train with the bars, which would look good on a ride like RWB because that look is reminiscent of the old Prior and Church trains.

If RWB does get Gerstlauer trains, SFWoA will be unique in that it has 3 woodies, none of which run PTC trains.

If SFWoA puts a new braking system in that allows 2 train operation, I wonder if they will actually run 2 trains.  They updated Big Dipper last winter to allow for 2 train operation, yet I never saw more than one on my visits there.

I thought Big Dipper ran two trains before they added the new brakes? Several coasters without auto brakes can run multiple trains if the operators are skiller. See Rideman's article on blocking. I loved it.

I actually got to experience both Big Dipper and Double Loop Running two trains this past summer.

Dipper had been able to run two trains in the past, but they would so rarely do it.
