Army Rangers lead the way
Why are they charging extra??? Although Six Flags parks in general like to upcharge on anything possible (however, I was pleasantly surprised by the free SmarteLockers by X at Magic Mountain), I can't believe they are charging an extra $10 to go through the haunted houses. This doesn't line up with any other park, Six Flags or not. Are they really that desperate for the money??? Just seems silly to charge $49.99 for this event when just down the road the competition is offering the same style of thrills (haunted and rides) for less money.
I'm not going to be able to make it to the event this year, but I can tell you one thing, CLOWNS ARE SCARY, so there would be at least one haunted house to scare the beejeezus out of me.

Haunted Ohio Parks...you've been warned!!

"To be the man...whoooooo...you have to beat the man!"
Six Flags St. Louis adjusted it's prices this year it is $3 each for Brutal Planet and Masouleum of Terror or $5 for both. Last year they were $5 and $3 each.
Almost every SF park charges for at least some of their haunted houses(SFAW does not and some other smaller SF parks may also not charge). This has been going on since the 1999 Fright Fest, the first Fright Fest after Premier had full control of SF.
I can remember going to Six Flags when it was still "Geauga Lake" during their Octoberfest. There were plenty of extra vendors, from popcorn stalls to Fortune Tellers, set up along the midway, with plenty of beer available, of course. That was one of the best times I've ever had at an amusement park.
I have heard some really good comments about the Fright Fest at SFWoA. They are really into promoting it, and I probably hear more about it since I live so close to the park. As for the extra charge for the attractions, it might be worth it. I would be just as happy to ride the rollercoasters and leave the "extras" out, though.
SFWoA did a fantastic job with their Halloween Fright Fest. I personally hate haunted houses, but could still tell that SF went 100% all out to make it a great time for those that like that stuff. I wanted to hit the coasters only, but you can't help but be amazed at how much extra work they put in. It paid off. Good job.
