Weather: 98 Degrees. Blazing Sun, Freakn' Hot & Snow!
Hello Coaster Fans Who Are Frantically Rubbing Aloe On Their Skin,
I decided to make a trip over to SFWoA by myself today and without my life partner (she had to work...but I brought her home some cotton candy so she'll forgive me). I pulled up to the parking booths and got royally confused. They actually had 4 booths open! I didn't know which lane to pick...for those who don't know they usually only have 2 open. I parked my car and got out, that's when it hit me. It was SOOOo hot that you can make instant beef jerky on the ground. I grabbed my gallon of sun tan lotion and was off.
My main goal(s) today was A) Check out the boardwalk B)Check out the old boardwalk C) Check out the new construction going on. D) Check out all the shows. And of course ride every freakn' thing in site :) My first trip was down to Serial Thriller. I noticed the park was VERY well dispersed (which this time of day it usually isn't as in the past.) As I was making my way down there...and a lot of other places in the park I noticed it was "Snowing."....a lot! For those who don't know most northern Ohio Parks have this month where they go through MASSIVE "Snow" storms. In reality this is just pollen from the trees. But there is soooooo much of it that it looks like fluffy snow. It gave an interesting view when it was 98 degrees and sunny ;) Almost all the rides were a one or two train wait with the exception of BKF and X-Flight (about 3 or 4 trains). Serial Thriller provider a great ride and I did not notice ANY tear on any headrests that someone had mentioned earlier (they might have already replaced it so I don't know). Great ride...I sum up the other rides so I can get to the main points:
Villain (9 rides)- SMOOTH as GLASS (compare this to MForce today) I don't know if it was the heat...but MAN this thing flew and had me hanging on for dear life, front back, middle...etc. WOW! Best ride ALL year so far!!
SUE (21 rides)- YEAH BABY!! Walk On and Stay on (average of 3 rides per station visit) I LOVE THIS...PURE Hangtime...PURE BLISS!
BKF (2 rides)- LOVE the G's and layout.
RWB (3 rides)- Only place to be is the back seat on this....This ride still has 2 of the best drops and feel like you're going to be thrown drops in the US.
Big Dipper (4 rides)- I really got ejected out of the seat on this...Ride this by yourself if you like being tossed from side to side!
I then rode Belle-air Express to get a good look at the water park. As expected it was packed! The water looked awesome and looked like the place to be. I also noticed the floating boadwalk had a lot of people crossing it. So I headed down there.
I made my way down to the boardwalk (which is down by the boat dock and bottom of the waterpark). That's when it hit me. If you want people to go over to the family side of the park, then why don't you put it down in the family part of the Wild Rides side!! BRILLIANT!! This seems to be working perfectly down there! There is even an employee stationed on the boardwalk taking care of guess needs...Oh and there is also life savers on the boardwalk...don't jump from it ;) It seems to be about 3/4 the length of the old one. It's almost perfectly straight with a hill leading up towards the Pearl Building. Still great views of the Wild Rides Side.
The boardwalk empties right into the Pearl Diving building. And man was this place happening. I bet there sales have gone WAY up since this has been added. This area of the park actually had a TON of people in it now. Penguins probably had to be wondering what the heck was going on. And get this...the Wild Life Side actually seemed busier than the Wild Rides side? Strange. So far it seems like their plans are working. Oh, I also noticed that most signs are pointing people to park on the Wild Life Side...I even saw two arrows pointing for "Wild Rides Parking" pointing to the Wild Life side (I would assume that in a few years the Wild Ride parking would be closed...don't know though). The Shows all had a lot of people over there all having fun. It was a great site.
I made my way over to see the whale. She is a cute and very playful killer whale. She was singing...A LOT. I mean she wouldn't shut up. She hit the ball then sing...then look at the people and sing. It sounded really cool. I hope they can get her a friend soon. She seems like she just wants to play a lot with everyone.
I noticed that all the maps have been changed throughout the park. They have not actually been changed but under a closer look they have added a blue sticker over the old boardwalk and put a new sticker showing the new boardwalk (but you can't tell unless you look really close to see it is a sticker.) They park maps actually show RIDES in front of the aquarium also...hmmmm.
I saw most of the shows which were quite good and then went over to the back walkway connecting the sides. Zebra area is coming along nicely. It's very close to the red house and looks to have an informative "farm" building and a few viewing areas or the zebras.
The crowd flow is 10000 times better now. I finally didn't feel crowded down by Raging Wolf Bobs. And there wasn't 10000's of little kids down here I noticed (though they probably couldn't stand the heat.) I went and rode all the carnival rides over the park and tried to find any evidence of a coaster and couldn't find any...with the exception of the employees do know they are getting one. I watched the shows over on the Wild Rides side and found out how to make a pregnant worm balloon animal ;) I also noticed how the landscaping is looking AWESOME on both sides now. This park is starting to quitely climb on my landscaping list...quickly.
Shawna's Birthday is later this week so I'm taking her to a few parks out of state that she hasn't been to, so I had to head home. I said hi to a few friends and empoyees I know there. In all it was a VERY hot day, but I still had a blast and fun time. Every day I'm looking more and more forward to what is coming!

Take a good look at Six Flags Worlds of Adventure because in a few years the Sea World side will look exactly like it does, a zoo.

84 coasters in Track Record!! Hypersonic XLC # 100 in July. Waiting for the 305 foot drop tower in 2003. Thank you PKD.
"SUE (21 rides)- YEAH BABY!! Walk On and Stay on"
I was there one evening with about 12 people on the whole platform and I was forced to walk around. It still looks like some people may follow rules more strict than other people. Did you have to empty your pockets on X-Flight or was there even someone there to check. I have blasted this place in the past, but I think better times are ahead. I would love to see the place get to the level of other great parks and maybe after another year(and a hyper) then I might actually believe someone who says "I drove right past CP to get here."
So how many times did you ride X-Flight again? I love that ride but am pissed that they 1) Don't recline on the lift anymore which I heard they started at the beginning of the year........and 2) They're starting to only run one train again. I think if they sort those things out, then the park would be a little more complete.
For the sake of it, Run 2 trains on The Villain too. Last time I went there we went to The Villain first and the line was out of the tunnel which I thought was very weird considering it's never really crowded anymore. But then as the line just moved so slow I realized they were only running one train. They should just get their acts together with the rides and that park would definately win the most improved park award.....if there is one.

As for the other question of empting your pockets on X-Flight:
Yes, they do have a guard at the VERY front of the ride. But I went on with camera, keys, wallet, and $$$$. Just don't go prancing through the que with everything hanging out and throwing things around. If it's hanging it, then they assume it will fall out...which it probably will. I just tucked everything in my pockets and was fine (any day I have gone this was fine.) The lady was also really cool about explaining to people what would happen and why they need the guests coperation. Main things not allowed to be taken in to the station was backpacks. But you are safe.
Oh, and ANY comparison to Wicked Twister or CP talk of it being better that ride operators will waist no time in making fun of you and not allowing rerides ;) All in good fun and faith though :)
As for reriding a ride. It all has to do with the average number of guests per hour that day. Usually if your nice they let you do it. But if you keep jumping from one seat, running over their feet, spitting while on the ride of course they'll do something about that.
At the beginning of the day I wasn't allowed to reride, but by the middle of the day, they said their manager called and said to allow rerides. :)
