SFWOA.....

Okay..We are gonna be a tad tight on cash for our trip....with the citaion and the mechanic slamming us for 60 the very next day. A couple questions.

First...Are there places to eat outside of the park within walking distance? If so..Which ones?

And last... Does it cost if you leave the park with your car and want to return?

I don't really know about the Sfwoa surroundings as well as some people on these boards. But last year one day we just packed some lunches, got out hands stamped, went to our car and ate, then just came back. You could get some fast food that doesn't have to be hot before you come (Subway??) Then you would have a place (your car) which is within walking distance.

I bet plenty of people do that when they dont have the money. We did it at KW. We could just bring a small cooler and leave it in the car. Thanks. I will mention this to my Chelle!

I am sure you can leave the parking lot and return the same day without having to pay again. All you have to do is show them your parking pass and they will let you back in for free.

Definately one can leave the lot and return the same day. But there are a few places within walking distance to the ride side parking lot/main gate. I used to walk to the Sirna's deli/grocery store directly across from the parking lot entrance. That waould be the closest. If you walk out of the ride gate and turn left onto 43 there is a Subway in a Convienent type store and a Chinese restaurant right down the road about ten minutes walking.

But the selection increases if you get in the car and head into Aurora (east on 43) or Solon (west on 43). In Aurora there is the typical MacDonalds and Wendy's plus a nicer resaurant called Steve's Place in the same lot as the Heinen's grocery store. But i would suggest Papous Bar and Grille down the road from the MacDonalds in the same strip mall as the Post Office. They have good affordable food with a nice atmosphere. In Solon there are all of the standard chains (ie Cooker, Applebee's, Max & Erma's) most of which are near the 422 highway. But in Solon i tend to like Rockne's at the corner of 43 and 91. Great fresh cut shoe string fries. The other thing about rockne's is the large portioning at a reasonable price.

Both Solon and Aurora is about ten to fifteen minutes from the park. Aurora tends to be less crowded and is definately a smaller suburb.

Good. Thank you very much!!!

I *think* I recall it was PKI that was a kinda pain in the arse about leaving WITH your car and returning....no BIG deal, but you had to get some ticket or something from GR before leaving.....most every other park that I know of (that charges for parking, that is) gives you a daily parking receipt that's good for re-entry for your car for the day....we oftentimes will leave for a nap/shower in the middle of the day, being "old fogies"....man, past 30 you really do go downhill.....;)....

if you aren't outraged, perhaps you haven't been paying attention...

A very nice place to eat outside the park is JADE CHINESE! Its in walking distance, and is right across the street from the wave pool.

If you go there 12-2pm they have a lunch buffet for $5.95. They have really good food too.

Citation? I guess you shouldn't drive it like you stole it. And remember, the towns of Aurora and Solon are MAJOR speed traps. Believe it or not, I used to live right on the road the leads to SFWoA... but now I live 2hrs away. :)

Why do they report power outages on TV?

The Citation was on the new toll road in Pa. The state trooper was tailgating us. So i speeded up to pass the car on my right so i could get out of his way. I didnt know they could tailgate you to make you go faster. I didnt know what kinna idiot was behind me. He came up on me real fast, bright lights and all. I was just thinking of my fiance first. Trying to get out of his way. Oh well. Guess you need a ticket once in your lifetime. Did it have to be before our trip though....lol
