SFoT what a day! 9/21/02

Associated parks:
None

Ok it all starts at 6:30 in the morning in the little city of Oklahoma City. I wake up, get dressed and everything and hop into my parents mini van. We go and pick up my friend, Jon, and then we are off driving to Dallas. We stopped halfway in between OKC and Dallas to have breakfast at McDonald's, I had a happy meal.

We arrive at SFOT at 10:30, 30 minutes after the park opened. Realizing we were late, me and my buddy hurried down to Mr. Freeze. "This ride is temporarily closed due to maintnance, Please go ride Batman: The Ride." We took their advice. Luckly Batman wasn't crowded at all. We probably spent 5 mins in line. I sat on the back row far left seat and Jon in the back right. This being my third Batman to have ridden on, i wasn't expecting much out of it, and that's pretty much what i got. Trying to inhance my level of fun on it, i tried to see how long a penny would stay in my lap. It lasted till the Zero-G roll, as i expected.

After we got off that, we decided to ride the train around over to the Titan and Texas Giant side. When we got off, the sign for the Texas Giant said it was a 10 min. wait. Boy wasn't that a lie. In line, we noticed a guy wearing a rainbow-colored bandana, we thought nothing off it. Next thing i know, i see him touching another guy in his group's butt. Me and Jon just looked at each other in disgust. We both realized that it was "Gay Day" at SFOT. There was a group in front of us, 4 guys and a girl, and all for guys were kinda weird. Well, back to the coaster side. It's took about 40 mins to get into the station. Jon and i sat in the very back row off Texas Giant. I pulled out one of my Happy meal toys, It's was a Tea pot and tea cup from the movie Beauty and the beast. He too went along for the ride in my lap. He made it down the first drop and then he eventually fell of and landed on the floor of the car, but at the midcourse brakes i put him back on my lap.Thedrop right after the midcourse brakes is really steep. The Tea Cup made it the whole ride. The ride was so painful, i felt like my shoulder was dislocated.

While we were in line we noticed the live for Titan was way too long, at least a 2 hour wait. So we passed it, but going to comeback later. We walked and walked and finally came up to the indoor rollercoaster, Runaway Mountain, The line looked short, so we waited. 15 minutes and we were on the front row. I had ridden this before, so i told jon that the coaster goes almost completely sideways and has an almost vertical drop. When we approached that part of the ride i was like,"here's the fun part," He held on for dear life. That ride is alot better that what people think it is gonna be. Anyone know how many of that same model of coaster there are out there? I know there's on right next to the Space Needle in Seattle.

After that we walked down and around to the mine train coaster, the line was too long for that even. So, we rode the mini mine train. That ride is acctually pretty fun for a kiddie coaster.

By now it was lunch time, so we meet up with our parents. Me and Jon ate a funnel cake while my parents stood in line for La Vibora for us. It took about 1 hr and 15 mins to get on that ride, cause the cars only hold 3 per car and there were only 5 cars running. Pretty fun ride.

Now we went to Titan, line appeared to be about an hour and a half long, so we waited, for about 15 mins. We noticed that there weren't any cars on the track. Then a lady came by and told us that they were having technical difficulties on the ride and that it would be down 15 to an hour. People started jumping outta line causae they didnt want to wait, i casually stood there. We probably progressed what would have been 45 mins in the line if the coaster was running, just by people getting outta line. We got to the zig zag part of the line, and another worker came out and told us it would be an additional 45 to an hour wait. I said screw that and we left. We were gonna come back in an hour. We hopped back onto the train and rode back to the Freeze side, still not open. This time the line for the mine train was about 10 mins long, so we waited and rode it. There was a lady behind me whose shirt said"only my teeth are straight". i take it she was a part of the festival or people roaming the park.

On to chockwave we went, 15 minute wait. Very back seat, again, we sat. The back seat on that ride was really intense. My vision was screwing with me on those loops. I always love hearing the clanking noise made by the trains on the stretch of track between the loops.

We still had like 25 mins to burn so we went up in the Observation tower. Not knowing about the rules of being up there i made a paper airplane. And casually threw it off. The little Guy up there came and asked me a few questions. I was like i didn't know. He goes over and shows me a sign that says no throwing stuff off or you will be thrown out of the park. i was like"oh crap". They took me down to security and asked me a few questions. The time was 5now so i wasn't too worried, because i was supposed to leave at 6 anyways. But got me and jon got to sit in this little holding area with 6 other "dilenquints". It was actually funner than the park, cause we got to annoy the lady that guards the holding area, we'd ask to go the bathroom every two minutes and we'd try to sneak out.

I got to sit in there for like 45 mins then my parents came and got me out, the were kinda mad.

Over all it was an OK day dispite Mr. Freeze being closed and the "type" or crowd that was there.

Thats hallarious man, great TR! lmao!

Anyone care for some roast beef?

That was exactly what I was thinking, Roast Beef!

Learn how to use the quote option, please?

I dont get it?

RIP Shockwave

Two things, a penny falling from Batman and a plastic teacup falling from TG could really hurt someone, that was very irresponsible. And Roast Beef, what was the point of quoting the whole TR?

I'm sorry, I guess I was just thinking like a tennager, which I am. Besides Batman never Crosses over the path, same with TG.

You were not thinking like a teenager, that assumes that all teenagers are irresponsible and immature. I know plenty of teens that are smart enough to secure all loose articles and refrain from throwing things off tall observation towers. Maybe these rides do not cross over public paths, but what about maintainance paths?

And getting caught and detained by security was fun? I can't wait until you have your first experience in jail. That will be a real luugh-a-minute riot!

Grow up.

Nothing... NOTHING... can prepare you for... the Fourth Dimension!

Batman at SFoT crosses over the queue path once and the exit path once, so you were risking the health of others. Too bad you didn't get to ride Titan or Freeze, but some get what they deserve.

I realize you were just trying to be funny, but try to refrain from judging people and their lifestyles on this forum. As long as you love coasters, you're welcome here whatever you do. I realize, as you have stated, that "you're just a teen," but still you should have some restraint.

Anyways, that was a good TR and very informative about the rides there. I'm glad you finally got to ride Titan.
