Hi all! Figured I'd give a report on my home park and my first trip there this year.

Took a couple of buddies with me to make it more fun.

First thing we did was hit Runaway Mountain. A lot of people were there getting their season passes, and so the first 20 minutes of the park was sort of a ghost town.

Runaway Mountain rode smooth. Got in the front row and had a nice time considering I was able to walk on and not have to wait in line.

My buddies (Who aren't exactly roller coaster purists) wanted to go again since there was no line, and so we did.

After hitting that twice, I hit Batman. Still the best coaster in the park. Feels just as good as last year, and believe me when I tell you that the front row is the only way to ride Batman. If you have to wait 4 or 5 cars longer, do it. It's just not the same anywhere else.

Good times there.

Got on the Acme Rocket after that. Do not ride it, since there are morons who like to spit when you go upside down.

Then we hit some slow points.

We got in line for Texas Giant at 11:00 AM. Got off the ride at noon and had to go to lunch. The Giant is abusive, but it's less so in the front. A fun coaster, but it beats you up sometimes.

After lunch, we headed for Flashback. We only waited in line for about 20 minutes (Midday and so it was pretty short considering the circumstances)

Flashback was awful. More rough than ever and the ride backwards had me feeling like I was about to throwup. It really made me dizzy.

After that I had to go ride an all time favorite. Cliffhanger! (Or the Wildcatter)

Cliffhanger is such a rush. My favorite ride in the park and I really hope they don't get rid of it. They can trash Superman Tower of Power instead.

Then it was time for The Titan. Front row, of course.

What a rush that drop is.

It rode smooth and even though it was the afternoon, we only stood in line for 30 minutes. The drop is so quick and you shoot straight back in the air on that turn. The upward spiral, the second drop...it's all good.

My friends felt like riding the Giant again so we hopped in line...for 1h30m!

While we're on the subject of waiting in line, I really hate people with flash passes. They really delay the line for everyone else who isn't carrying extra cash around for the pass.

Anyway, the ride was more abusive the second time. Certainly not worth the time.

We had time for one more ride and so of course we had to go to Titan again.

Waited in line 40 minutes and it was worth it. Gotta love The Titan.

So, to review, I waited in line a total of 1h10m for two rides on Titan and 2h30m for two rides on The Giant :eyeroll:

Didn't ride Shockwave. It was closed until we left. I can't figure out why they've parked Shockwave for the first week.

Missed Mr. Freeze, but for me, that's no loss.

Going again soon! Can't wait to hit it again! Hopefully I'll see some of you up there sometime!

This was one of my favorite parts about the TR.

Maybe someone should start and anti-FP website. Rob? Dexter? Chuck? :)

It was my favorite part too. It shows people actually use them. ;)

I hear ya on both! Wildcatter>Superman, simple as that! I hate that fluffy drop on Superman. And it seems in my old age (20 ;)) I can't handle Freeze like I used to... one ride and I've usually got a headache (that is if I don't already just from the sound of it!!). Too bad about Shockwave being closed though.

The bigger they are, the harder they brake
Shockwave is ok, not great, so it wasn't SO bad that I missed it. I still like it ok.

One complaint is the way they hit the brakes at the end of the ride. I feel like getting sick when they do that.

OK? Shockwave? Wait, I need caps....

SHOCKWAVE? OK?!!??

Excuse me, I heard something crazy in my ear....

Shockwave is my favorite looping coaster anywhere....period. But I do respect your right to disagree. One less person in front of me when I go....and it had BETTER be open....LOL! :)

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

Shoot, for Giant and Shockwave, you can have my whole STATE! ;)

edit: I do get to keep Space Mountain....gives Matt reason to visit. :)

Umm... yall can't have Shockwave if *I* get to it first!! You can have the Giant though... fine by me. ;)

Yeah Bill. Don't give up Space Mountain. I'd love to have it right here in Iowa, but going to WDW wouldn't be the same without Space Mountain or Thunder or Splash. You can give away Everest though. ;)

How many trains are on these coasters? Those times don't seem like the off-season. Are they all one trains?
Texas Giant was running two trains and flash pass people kept getting in front of us while we waited by the steps.

I actually had one adult girl stick her tongue out at me as she passed by.

I hate the flash pass.

It may be off-season, but this is spring break week, and the park is typically busier now than during the summer. I drove by a couple of times this week and parking was into overflow. Titan and Giant's third trains are most likely still in rehab. The other coasters should each be running the max trains unless there was a problem.
Gonch, we know people use the stupid passes. But at least we have one more person on our side that dislikes the pass (RCB) :)

And on top of that, one of these peeps seems to think they're better than the rest of us (see above).

Yeah, that's about the most hilarious FlashPass story ever.

How can you take an adult sticking their tongue out seriously? Too funny.

I never get to see anything great like that.

^ Maybe you could do it the next time you use the Flash Pass :)

Just watch out for flying fists if you're at SFGAdv :) Some of those people up there are crazy! A fight started to break out in Superman's line one time when I was there, though I don't think it was over Flash Pass.

I never get to see anything great like that.

That's because you're never waiting in line. ;)

Heck, I would trade Shockwave *and* Giant for ANY B&M in Florida.

Not that I don't like Shockwave (I do actively dislike Giant), but I can't take the loops, especially in the summer heat.

Actually it seems like every major cosater at SFoT has just a hair too many positive G's for me. The only things I can ride on a summer day and not grey out, get a headache or feel sick are the mine train, Judge Roy, and Runaway Mountain. :-P

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

LOL!

I felt the same way about SFMM (ugh, thank God that's no longer my homepark). Too many heavy positive G's and little else.

I like Shockwave, but I hear where your coming from. One ride on Revolution and Goliath, and sometimes my day of riding would be done. The G's are so strong, and there's nothing to counter balance that, airtime coaster that is.

How's La Vibrora? Is that a fun ride?
