SFoG: What Happened?

The web was flourishing with photos and rumors of their new coaster. Does anyone know if track has arrived or if it' gone vertical? It's been quite some time since any news of the latest events in construction. Seems the curiosity of their 2002 coaster has died off.
The park requested that all of the construction photos be taken off the net until an official announcement is made, so that is why all of the construction pics are slowly disappearing :)

Good to know. I wonder why though, people have a right not to wait until late winter (when *MOST* parks announce) to know what a park is getting don't you think?
technically, we dont really have a right to know anything until THEY choose to make an announcement.  there could be several reasons why they are waiting...maybe they are waiting for all the pieces of track and all to arrive, so that they know its a done deal....i dont know, im just guessin...bottom line is SFOG has a right to withhold the announcemet as long as they want...i know man....TOTALLY sucks..i wanna know what it is too:)

tim...who is NOT convinced that SFoG will stage America's first B&M flyer :) :) :)

ROLLERCOASTERS....BETTER THAN OXYGEN BABY!!!!!!

Yes track has arrived,it is red B&M track with yellow rails.
I heard back in November that SFOG was holding off the official announcement until January, because they wanted to announce the ride near the time they started selling season passes to boost up sells in that area.  And January is only a little over a week away so in about 2-3 weeks, we will know what the park has in store for us.  And after the announcement is made, construction pics, and updates will return regularly.  The park just wants to keep the ride as secret as possible, that's why all the pictures and updates have stopped coming.
I drove by the park on I-20 on Thursday 12-20, and there is a large crane at the site.  The footers have been poured by now, and I'm sure vertical construction will begin before 2002.
For what it's worth, I saw pictures of the track when it was online and it was B&M, and certainly from the look of the thickness of the rails, a flying coaster.  Oh well, we'll just have to forget about the rest until the park lets us know.  No big deal. :)

It really makes more sense business-wise, IMO, to announce before the end of the season to boost season's pass sales for the upcoming year...I must not be understanding something about why it works the way it does...even CF announced pretty much everything by now...the Brits have known for a WHILE all their new "preesents"....

Sure it may be torture for some to wait for annoucements, but look where most peoples attention lies in the off-season. It's on the holidays, schoolwork, football games etc. It's better to wait until springtime when people are eager to get back outdoors again.

Until you get a parking space with your own name on it, you're still part of the GP.
