SFOG trip

I live in South Carolina and I am planning a trip to SFOG one weekend this summer. I know weekends are the most crowded times, but when would be the best time to go to avoid crowds? I can go pretty much any weekend from opening day on. just wanted to know what you guys thought
Try towards the beginning or end of the season, while school is in session. It also makes a big difference to go on a Sunday (except during Halloween). I went on a Sunday in the middle of the summer last year and walked on to everything! No need to even think about a Q-bot (which is a necessity for a Saturday visit and worth the extra cash).

During the Spring you can come on either Saturday or Sunday and the crowds are usually the same. During the Summer Saturdays are ridiculous and you may get 4-6 rides in by the end of the day if you stay all day. Sundays get crowded around 1:00 after churchs start to let out. Hope this helps.

Asst. Foreman at the Mindbender and Batman

Opening Weekend and the weekend after that have been the slowest in the last 3 years i've worked there. I would definately try for one of those two, by the way, ONLY 9 MORE DAYS TO GO!!!!!!!!
Hey X Marks, how'd you manage to be Asst. Foreman at both those rides?

"On the moon nerds get their pants pulled down and spanked with moonrocks."

I am the Asst. at Mindbender. But they want me to be certified in the whole section especially Batman. So thats Mindbender, Batman, Deer Park, FreeFall, and the 2 other new rides when they open. I'm kinda smart and I'm like the only one who wants to be certified at all the rides.

Ok, I thought you were saying you were gonna be the Asst. at both. You're just getting crosstrained in your section like every other Asst. and Foreman gets. Enjoy running breaks at Batman, a.k.a. "the Employee Oven" ;).

will Deja Vu be open on those first two weekends?
According to my supervisors and park maintenance Deja Vu is scheduled to be open on opening day, however that is dependant on the weather.
Actually Chris, I'm one of a few people in the section being cross-trained. I'm getting trained at every ride in section 2. Others aren't. Maybe a few.

Why is that any time I see the words "Six Flags over Georia" or "SFoG" I hear the song "Now we know what hell on earth is like." Man that was one of the funniest cartoons (that is sooo true) that I've seen for awhile.
Even though it said SFoG, that cartoon rang all too true for me and my visit to SFWoA...X Marks, eventually every foreman and asst. will be "highly-encouraged" to learn all the rides. Some just take longer than others. Congrats though on getting a major ride. I think we both know the scariness when moves are announced hoping that you won't get Bugs Bunny World ;).

I actually think SFoG is one of the nicer parks in the chain, in some ways. It has nice landscaping, and still has quite a bit of the original theming here and there, meaning that Batman and Superman aren't everywhere....YET. Lots of trees as well, and that is always a plus. :) I've only been to SFoG, Six Flags America and Kentucky Kingdom though, so my views are very limited.

If only it were in the hands of a company with different values.

When I went last summer, we went at the end of June and waited maybe 10 minutes to get on Superman. Tuesdays are good days to go. It is a very well kept park and I can't wait to go back next year. Only bad part was Deja Vu was closed...hmm..go figure. ;)

It's bad enough when it's hot at a park, but worse if your parents are there.
