SFoG Help Needed!

I am going to SFoG and White Water Atlanta in July and need to know what hotels I can stay at thet are in a good part of town and near the park itself. Price needs to be "
reasonable" and not too pricey. Just start giving suggestions if you could please. Peace! And thanks in advance.

Near SFOG, don't stay anywhere on Fulton Industrial or east of that exit, as that part of town is sketchy at best.

If you want to stay near the park, avoid the Mark Inn and Days Inn, I have heard bad things about them. There is a fairly new Sleep Inn, but so far I haven't heard anything about it (good or bad).

I would drive over the next exit on I-20 west past the park, Thornton Road. It's a nicer part of town with a few hotels that should be average priced.

I haven't been around White Water in a few years, but the part of Atlanta (Marietta) it is in is generally much nicer than the area SFOG is located in, you shouldn't have much trouble finding a bed there. Good luck.

Try the Lithia Springs exit, which is one, maybe two exits, beyond the park. You'll find a nice variety of motels and restaurants there. I stayed at a very nice and new Motel 6 at that exit.

I've found the Days Inn and Sleep Inn at the park to be very expensive. Never stayed at the La Quinta. Avoid Fulton Industrial Blvd. Made the mistake of staying at the Super 8, which is right next to the red light district. Scary. Scary. Scary. And that's just the ladies of the evening standing on the street!

We stayed at the LaQuinta in the Conyers area when we were there in April. Nice area, nice hotel and an easy half hour drive to the park.
