It's SFOG...it's Deja Vu......you could probably bet the farm on it being down. I had 5 visits there this year. None had Vu operating, and none had a soul even near the thing pretending to work on it.

I was at SFOG yesterday. Deja Vu was not working all day, nor did I see any work being done on it. I wouldn't go expecting it to be open. Sky Buckets and Thunder River were closed as well. The park was the most crowded I have EVER seen it, and I imagine on Halloween will be even more so. All the coasters were at least an hour wait. Good luck!

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!
sky buckets were down back in early september too.......it makes you really appreciate them when you have to walk up hill

Aren't they always "working" on it?

Actually, for the most part I think SFoG has given up on their Vu, keeping the maintenace time and staff available for rides they CAN keep running. Kinda weird considering that SFGAm, and to some extent SFMM, have theirs *considerably* operational.

I wouldn't be TOO surprised to see SFoG try to get rid of their Vu, the commitment to the ride seems like a cost that park mgt. feels is too high for what they get back in return...

I got my ride on it...but I'm not a big fan of the Vus, I'd prefer a standard Invertigo that RUNS. ;)

^In that case you'd have to travel to PKI or PGA because SFA's invertigo has been down since august & won't be up again til 05.
Its too bad the Vu is down out there...contrary to what other people say, I believe this ride is definitly in the top 10 of my coasters...unbelievable intensity, unprecedented weightlessness and negative g's. I don't recall how long VU has been down @ Georgia, but don't forget, the one @ the Mountain was down for about a year and a half.

I'm kinda with you Bill. It's not pretty enough to be a statue. Take it and give us our hyper.

Hmm, that's got me thinking. The area where DV is just happens to be the lowest portion of the park, topographically speaking. Let's see... hmm.. Lifthill... hmm.. out and back..

Hey guys,

Pack it up and ship it to St. Louis. We'll take it. Our guys have done wonders with keeping Xcaliber up and running.

Now if they can fix the mis-firing lim on Freeze.;)

Just a couple of G-Force junkies!

You have Mr. Freeze which is leaps and bounds better than Deja-Vu (IMO).

I would gladly have a swap with SFGAm (your Mr. Freeze for our DV).

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

I was "lucky" enough to get a ride on Deja Vu at SFOG last year. Not a terrific ride, especially not from an engineering standpoint. You'd be wise to push the park to replace it with a hyper :)
I was "lucky" enough to get a half-hour-long ride on SFoG's Deja over Memorial Day weekend.

The damn thing can *stay down* for all I care. ;)

Freeze is SO good my sig read (for awhile at least) "I eat Snowy's Cones"....

You've never seen me say THAT about any Vekoma ride, LOL....:)

But honestly, the least *bangy* Vekoma that goes upside-down, other than Disney's, are those Invertigoes....and there's one of THOSE with a For Sale sign on it...

I'd obviously prefer SFoG to get a RoS, but an Invertigo that WORKS would fit perfectly in Vus *footprint*....and do MORE than "fill it's shoes"...;)

An Invertigo would be a step down... Six Flags could never justify that to the GP. I see a hyper, but it's not looking good for 2005, nothing is happening, and hypers are big. If it does come in 2006, that will be a four year gap between major coasters... a presidence for SFoG dating back to when Z-Force arrived 10 years after MindBender in 1988.

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!
NOOOOOO......, you can NOT have Freeze, and we don't want your Vu, no challenge, it works sometimes. ;)

The sad thing is I have been within 100 feet of all 3 of them, and the only 1 running was at SFMM and didn't want to wait 2 + hours to ride. I thought I'd get back to Chicago and ride theirs, but last time we went it only tested.(last year) :(

I do agree, Mr. Freeze v.1.0 was good, but Mr. Freeze v.1.1(lapbars only) is awesome!! *** Edited 10/26/2004 6:20:52 AM UTC by angnjc***

Just a couple of G-Force junkies!

SFStL is keeping their Freeze. You can take your Vu and.... ;)

^^^Mindbender opened in 1978.

I like the VU, more than Superman, but not more that Cyclone. It was less rough in it's second(first?) season, but it's still intense, scary, and quick. I definately wish it was open.

Chattanooga needs a ITG2 Machine!
^^I recall deja vu being very smooth...the only one vekoma ever had
