SFO Media Day: 5/4/00

This was totally not planned. Steph and I were stopping by Six Flags Ohio to get our passes processed. With all of the catering going on just inside the gate, I remembered that it was media day. So for the heck of it, I asked the nice woman at the table if they needed some bodies. She gave us name tags and we were suddenly walking up to Villain...
The Villain: My new favorite woodie. Who knew? I was not expecting this. It has it all... airtime throughout, head choppers, strong laterals and cozy trains. The back seat has you floating all over the place in those gorgeous Gerstlauer trains.
Off of the first hill you go through the structure and back up a very high hill. Back down through a flat section that does tiny, brief roll right and back, then up in to the turn around. From the turn around through a dip and in to the kidney bashing turning drop. After some more airtime hills and another turn around, you are out of your seat constantly. When the thing finally hits the brake run, you're still way up with plenty of energy to spare.
I noticed that there is a long flat section for trims or block brakes on the second turn around, and the transfer table has room for three trains. It appears that CCI left that option open for them, but I'm no expert. 6 laps.
Batman: Knight Flight: I finally got to ride a floorless, and to be honest I was only moderately impressed. The front seat is very cool, especially in the center over the track. The thing is fast throughout and doesn't let go. Strong G's in the two turns following the vertical loop. They're not using the trims before the cobra roll (thank God) and only lightly pulsing the midcourse. The flat spin at the end is just nuts. Other seats just felt like any other B&M, frankly, but that's not a bad thing. 2 laps.
Superman: Ultimate Escape: Holy mother of God! I'll save you Lois! When they announced this thing, I was thinking glorified boomerang. Man, was I wrong. my friend's dad is a pretty high ranking guy in the local coke business(he evens drives a coke van). he basically goes to schools, businesses, organization, etc., etc and tries to get them to use coke. he went there yesterday and said the exact same things you were talking about, jeff. he seemed more excited about the huge steaks he got to eat there. haha
