SFNE'S CYCLONE COASTER

I was wondering if anyone remembers if the first drop on the coaster is better now or before the modifications to the first drop of 15-20 feet?

When i visited the park last the modifications were complete and the ride sucked. That was in the summer of '02.

Your Park only has 1 good coaster! That's too bad!

Before getting in, I was told by a guy who had ridden it many times that it's actually BETTER now, but if that's the case, I'd hate to have seen it before.

I'm ashamed for it to carry the same name as the Georgia Cyclone. :(

Is it the real yellow or the yellow that they had on the coaster cars??

When I rode it in 1986, the first two drops were horrifying. I was disappointed to find out that they had raised the pullout of the first drop by 15-20 feet. The weakest part of the ride was the high turnaround crossing over the lift and the approach. It looks like fun, but it was pathetically slow. Ditto for the turn surrounding the first drop, except that one didn't even look like fun. Almost all of the ride's drops packed a punch, though, providing ejector air, then slamming the riders back into their seats at the bottom of the hills. My guess is that the modifications had more to do with making it appealing to the GP, rather than speeding things up. Have they added trims anywhere? Or has it been slowed down by old age?

Only one or two trims hit when I was there. The one that hit hard was right before the tiny bunny hops (5-10 feet) which made it feel like a kiddy ride. The turnarounds were pretty fast when I went (September 2002) and there was a drop (the second or third or 4th) that was amazingly steep, and was ejector air so much and so rough, my Dad and I called it the back cruncher drop. I really think this ride is fun, and has a lot more potential.
