SFNE vs Lake Compounce

Both parks are my home parks and I visit both alot (12mins from LC and 30minstoSFNE). I also have a 15yr old daughter and 13yr old son we have seasonpasses for both parks and both my kids would rather go to SFNE for the rides and the waterpark but it used to be the other way around until they started riding SROS last year. You can't really compare the parks as SFNE is much bigger and Hurricane Harbor is one of the best waterparks around (almost as big as all of LC). IMO LC does charge too much for what it offers, sure theres free soda (they are 12oz. cups by the way) but I always bring a cooler and I don't drink fountainsoda. Both parks are very clean and SFNE is doing a great job enforcing the nosmoking policy.

If you are looking to spend a few hours at a park without spending alot of money than try LC, but if you want to spend the whole day and more money for more thrills than its SFNE all the way. Also Boulderdash is running 1 train most of the time due to maintenance issues. The lines are shorter at LC but it depends on what day your visiting SFNE as to how long the lines are. I was there on Thursday and there were on lines but when I was there yesterday it was packed and SROS had a 2hr wait. *** Edited 8/7/2006 10:14:58 PM UTC by Ajrides***

Thanks. It seems as though you and I harp on that sort of thing like crazy so it figures you would appreciate that sort of thing.

I will add this in agreeance with others, though. I frickin' love SFNE's water park and as far as I can tell, it's probably the best non-stand-alone water park in the country, IMO. There's still some capacity things to work out on the busiest of weekends but gee whiz, I can't think of much the place is missing besides some better theming. I mean, if that's your thing.

There are a couple of areas in which SFGAM's HH trumps SFNE's:

1) Twisting Racing Slides
2) Cannon Bowls or Pro Bowls (I can't remember which is which--all I know is that they were the type that you ride with a tube and not fall through the center at the end). Otherwise, I'd say the parks are pretty similar in content, except for the Pro Slide conveyor belt water coaster added last year at SFNE.

^^^I like the swimming areas at SFNE better, which is something you don't see a lot of at waterparks outside of wave pools.

Also, Typhoon pretty much beats the tar out of twisting racing slides and either bowl. ;)

Well said...my choice would have been more difficult had LC stayed open later...since it wasn't, I did both. Having been up that way twice now and doing both parks twice, I couldn't suggest *skipping* either...

Still need a night ride on B-Dash though...
