I was chatting with a security guard online today. He said he was chatting with another security guard and told me the guard was sure there was to be a major expansion for 2002. So those reports of track are false. Anyway, he said next winter, the ENTIRE parking lot that borders Island Kingdom and Mind Eraser is to be turned into part of the park. I've walked the lot. There's plenty room for at least 2 coasters, some flat rides, and a themed area. And then sometime between 2002 and 2005, they will expand as far north of Blizzard River as they can.
Sounds really good, I hope that one comes true in the near future. It's looking like we aren't getting anything noteworthy for 2001, so hopefully 2002 will be the year SFNE makes something of itself.

Hope those rumors are true because I was kinda hoping something new for 2001 that doesn't seem likely.
Well, I guess we'll have to wail untill next year. I can be happy with SROS for this season.

I have a small but distinct feeling that not only will New England get a big expansion for 2002, but a couple of the other neglected Six Flags properties will also get their just due... this includes the likes of Great Escape when they finally bear the name of Six Flags (hopefully not dropping the Great Escape name!), which will add some major new rides/attractions.
Plus I got a good feeling Darien Lake will get their much needed major expansion. I think that the bigger parks got their taste of new coasters & rides... but now it's time to test the waters with the smaller Six Flags parks!!
I talked to someone who lives in the town and they said that Six Flags is buying up all the property they can get their hands on. They want to expand but some of the town people are getting angry about the increase in traffic. I think that they need to find new way to get to the park or expand the roads around the park. Can't wait for 2002!
I just hope the citizens of surrounding towns don't screw it up. The last thing we need is SF going to court cause they want to buy land, but the people refuse to sell it. The Great Escape can only expand depending on how much money they make. I do hope The Great Escape expands in 2002, I would like to take a trip there. I just really hope SFNE doesn't get the shaft because they wanna expand The Great Escape, but that is very, very unlikely to happen.
I heard that SFNE owned the land beyond the parking lot as far as Suffield Conference Centre. Mind you , many of last summer's international employees would like to see that place demolished asap. I also heard rumours of a major expansion plan taking in the Island Kingdom and the parking lot and I think these include a new coaster. (a Joker's Jinx type thing perhaps?)
