SFNE question

My wife and I are planning some trips for this year and one park we would like to visit this year is SFNE. We were planning on going probably the first week in July. Can anyone tell me about the crowds there this time of year? Thanks!

Did I mention, that I like coasters...

Only long wait is superman

Well, there will be an even longer wait now for Batman... or at least just as long as Superman (3 trains might make it go a lot faster).

Ok, what's new for 2003?? I can't wait!!...
I was there in about the second week of July and everything was busy.  The shortest wait was for Mind Eraser, wonder why?:)  Superman was like 3 hours.  Hopefully Batman will aleviate some of that wait

Thats the whole point ditto.

Out of the coasters i've ridden here is wat i rank them overall:(ive been to canobie lake and SFNE)
1. S:RoS 2. Yankee Cannonball 3. Riverside Cyclone 4. Canobie Corkscrew 5. Thunderbolt 6. Galaxy 7. Mind Eraser 8. Dragon coaster 9. poison ivy's tangled
It depends on the day of the week.  I went on a Wednesday and a Friday last year.  Wednesday had some waits, but Friday had very long waits.  I imagine weekends would be longer.  If it's a really hot day,  all of the people will go into the water park.

I am also going sometime in July or Early August. Is Monday a good day to go? About how long are the waits for S:ROS?
I waited 15 mins a few times...but usually 45 mins to 2 hours.

I've been five times, and never more than 1 hr. for S:RoS during 2 train operation. That includes dead middle of afternoon on Sat. Single train operation, I've waiting 1.5 for middle, 2+ for front. I've noticed that SFNE crowds are very dependant on the forecast. I went on Memorial day last year and the forecast was for thunderstorms, and we got a tiny sprinkle of rain. S:RoS was 15 minutes. So if you're willing to put up with scattered thunderstorms and are flexible, shoot for a day like that.

If you don't have it, get the Screamin' Serpent.

It all depends. A weekend in the summer is going to be deadly in terms of crowds. If you want to get a good park experience, go on a monday, teusday, or wednesday. You might want to call ahead and see if any camps/groups are meeting at the park that day. Those will increase crowds. Get to the park when it opens, and you will probably end of using Lo-Q..I recommend it at least. Have a great time!
If you go midweek, you should be able to get on everything at least once.  That's about the extent of what I would guarantee.  Expect to wait at least an hour for the major coasters, Scream, and the water rides.  Hopefully, operations will improve this year as a result of the new management, but you should see Superman, Batman, Cyclone, and Mind Eraser with two-train operation.

SFNE 2002: Bigger is not always better.
Actually, no matter what day it is the park is gonna be crowded in July. That's just the way it is. I go almost every Monday and it is usually around a 30-45 mins. during the summer months with 2 trains operation. Don't count on the waterpark for much. It will get crowded quick and people will start pouring out to get to the most popular rides (S:RoS, B:DK, Mind Eraser, and Flashback) once the lawnchairs are all taken up. Also, get there early! I can't stress this enough. If you get there even at 11:30 you'll be parking in C to B parking. That's a lot of walking. Believe me, I have two sisters that are always ready late and I have to walk that long way every time. Hope this helps.

Well i went a wednesday i think last year, and S:RoS had a long wait but ran 2 it so i only waited 20 mins tops, and then when i got off (the ride) their was a HUGE line, so S:RoS is the longest, Flashback was closed so i dont know how the lines are for that. And mind eraser was kinda long...

MikeMir, Flashback almost always has a long line. But when the queue is filled it tops off at 45 mins. Man, 45 mins. for a Boomerang. Poor, pitiful, stupid GP. But hey, whatever takes the crowds away from the good rides, right?

Here's an idea. Ride Zoomerang!!! It'll be a more enjoyable experience w/ practically no wait compared to SFNE.
