I know I should be patient and I know that I should just wait for the announcement (and I know that I'm going to get a whole bunch of heresay), but when is SFNE's opening day and will the new floorless be ready? ----------------- The legend lives!
Of course it will be ready. When a park builds a coaster during the off season it has to open the next... plus its almost done and its only January... ----------------- Out of the coasters i've ridden here is wat i rank them overall:(ive been to canobie lake and SFNE) 1. S:RoS 2. Yankee Cannonball 3. Riverside Cyclone 4. Canobie Corkscrew 5. Thunderbolt 6. Galaxy 7. Mind Eraser 8. Dragon coaster 9. poison ivy's tangled
Mike: you mean like with Deja Vu? or maybe X? the list goes on and on. just because construction is during the off season doesn't guarantee that the ride will be built. while B&M have a perfect track record of opening rides on time, what if a blizzard hits the NE and the snow doesn't melt until March? would they be able to construct the ride, the station, and everything else that needs to be constructed, then test the ride and have it operational by opening day? doubtful. ----------------- Knott's Berry Farm Cuba ~South Park
Uh yea!!! Just plow the area or cover it with a big blue tarp and keep building it... plus we dont even get blizzards anymore sadly... ----------------- Out of the coasters i've ridden here is wat i rank them overall:(ive been to canobie lake and SFNE) 1. Mike is right. This winter is nothing to worry about coaster wise up in NE...Sadly:( ----------------- Six Flags New England loses its "floor" for 2002!!! Visit www.geocities.com/sfneguy for info. about SFNE!!!
At least there arent any major rivers to cause a major flood and wreck the coaster. ----------------- New Hampshire: Live free or die!
Other than the fact that Six Flags New England is right on the Connecticut River. On the bright side, B&M is really good with their coasters. SFNE's coaster is well ahead of where Medusa was back in '99. It opened on time...and GAdv's season starts sooner than SFNE's. Everything should be fine. ----------------- http://www.gadv.com

But, on another thread I saw that they had a lot of problems with Medusa when it first opened. They said that mechanics were in the station basically waiting for the floor to get stuck. I guess that's why they changed it to pinch wheels instead of vertical for more accuracy. ----------------- Six Flags New England loses its "floor" for 2002!!! the point is that something unexpected could happen. if nothing happens that could stop the construction then it will probably be open opening day (unless there's a mechanical problem), but it is possible, however unlikely, that construction will have to stop and the coaster won't open on time. the truth is that we don't know if it will be open opening day, but there's a huge probibility that it will be slated to be up and running opening day. ----------------- Knott's Berry Farm Cuba ~South Park
P>ONT face=Verdana size=2>srosatsfne - Medusa was the first floorless coaster ever. Just like X, there are bound to be mechanical problems on a prototype. B&M's been doing floorless for several years now, so there really should be no problem. But if there is a problem, which so many people think will happen, life will go on. So what, a ride doesn't open on opening day...is it the end of the world? If anything it builds your anticipation, and makes the first ride that much sweeter. You SNE peops gotta chill and just be thankful you are one of the few parks getting a coaster this season./P> ----------------- http://www.gadv.com
Chewman, i was defending the park opening the coaster on time by saying that B&M has gotten all the kinks out of the floorless. I wasn't saying that just cuz it's a floorless it wouldn't open on time. ----------------- Six Flags New England loses its "floor" for 2002!!! Visit www.geocities.com/sfneguy for info. about SFNE!!!
Also, Chewman, no one is saying they're going to die if it doesn't open on time. They're just speculating on whether it will be open or not.
Anyway, has SFNE announced an opening date, or does anyone know what their usual opening time is?

I think it's more likely the ride won't be running on the first day....usually it opens a week later or so
SFNE opens April 10. Mike B. ----------------- I know you rider Gonna miss me when I'm gone
