SFNE Construction - CoasterBuzz

These pictures show a lot of the parking lot being used for construction. I'm concerned that there won't be enough room more a couple major coaster to be placed there anymore. Do you think that SFNE is wasting some precious space for expansion? I know that all the Hurricane Harbors are great and that it's great that SFNE is getting one but is anybody else concerned about the room left for coaster construction or any construction for that matter?

I think most people have assumed that the parking lot was SFNE's major available space for future expansion. It is surprising that they would use so much of it for the new Hurricane Harbor, however, perhaps we shouldn't be so quick to assume that this means there is no room for other park expansions. I find it hard to believe that SFNE would put themselves in a position of not being able to add many new coasters, flat rides, and perhaps other themed areas. After all, it is not one of their biggest parks, and it is a rather "young" SF park. Maybe they have some surprises in store for us in the future.

gardener14: Surprises in the future would be oh so great. I'm curious to know what the park is gonna be like in 10 years. You know...what's been added, maybe expansion over the river. Who knows.

They seem to have some land around the company outing/catering area. They used quite a bit of it for the Haunted Trail during FrightFest, so maybe they will expand in that area. The catering area itself takes up a lot of space, so maybe they could use that for expansion if the move the catering facilities or decide that they don't need such a large facility.

I agree with the picnic area. They don't need all that space but they can't really do anything with that area. The reason for having the picnic area is so that it is quiet and whatever goes on in that area can be private and with no noise or distractions. They could move it somewhere or make it smaller though. That would be the perfect expansion because you there's already a path and you could build behind the trampolines too.
