SFNE Coaster matches Batgirl's costume exactly!

When watching Batman & Robin on TNT last night (1997), I noticed that Batgirl's ostume is indeed blue, black, and purple. The same colors as SFNE's track/support colors. I didn't think it would be Batgirl themed either, but after seeing the matching colors last night, I, myself, am convinced that the rumors are true that SFNE's coaster will be Batgirl themed.

props to the female superheroes...seems especially appropriate in these post-Taliban days.  When are we gonna get some women coaster-designers?

yeah, she's definitely administration Shaggy, but you got that head-on.  I wonder if she doesn't show interest in the design aspect, coonsidering that was her father's gig...maybe CCI should get first crack at fixing up all these ailing S-Ds, TR notwithstanding.

I think it is very creative of the park to use a brand new theme. Instead of creating a new Batman title, or using the lame, already-used ones, they have come up with a brand new theme for a ride. I think it will make the park unique in it's own way, such as having coasters themed to superheroes, but also superheroines. This is a glimpse into the future of SFNE, IMO. With Joe Meck as GM, this will surely be one of the nicer SF parks. With new, creative themes like Batgirl, and using land conservatively, while still building some awesome coasters, SFNE looks to be on it's way to be a great park.

I couldn't agree more, CoasterGuy.  The park has gotten better and better every year from both ride selection and operations stand points.  I think Joe Meck will work some wonders for this park and make it one of the better parks in the Six Flags chain despite its small size.

At first a Batgirl theme seemed distant but after all this it seems likely and cool too.  I like the idea of a new theme.  CoasterGuy and TPNE...I agree with your ideas about Joe Meck.  It would be awesome to have a must-visit destination in NE for all non-NEers.  I hope this park evolves into a SFGAdv size and thrill park.  We'll see what happens.

A coaster named after women would be "gay," but a zillion coasters named after men are not "gay."  Patman007, assuming you are male, what the heck is that supposed to mean?

Who cares if a coaster is named after a girl. Hell I'd ride a coaster that was Barbie themed, why, because its a coaster. All these people who think naming it Batgirl is gay are probably the same people who can't say anything positive.

I personally love the idea of a Batgirl themed coaster.  The colors do seem to match the 60's personnna.  However, hasn't Batgirl's most recent incarnations had a costume akin to Batmans?  Ala blue and grey.

Take for instance the last Batman sequel and you will see what I mean.  The SF parks are using the most recent "Dark Knight" theming for their Batman rides.

Again, Batgirl would be a great theme and something we have yet to see.  Although I hope no promotional images of Alicia Silverstone as Batgirl are used  **Hurl**

As far as being a "gay" idea...  Well think what you like.  I for one think it's high time a good coaster had a "family" theme... and I dont mean Mom and Pop if you catch my drift ;-)

Actually John,, I mean Shaggy :), I dont catch your drift. But I've never been the fastest cat in the pride. Anyway, the colors dont need to match anything . Just take a look at Batman: Knight Flight, it doesn't *really* match the Batman colors. I think they just are going to bright colors because they look more "fun" or "festive".

Shaggy may be right. Although the colors do match Batgirl very well, it could be Batman, as this is all speculation at this point.

If this indeed turns out to be Batgirl, then hats off to SF for treading those grounds. Not that I'm against Batgirl, but how many think it'll sit well with a typical teenage guy?
