SFNE Big Crowds?

Hey if anyone had been to Six Flags New England yet please tell me how lines have been and if the crowds have been big thank you.

SFNE brings in the crowds like none other. Well other parks bring in more but SFNE will always be kind of crowded. Just be prepared to wait a while... although Batman's lines aren't nearly as long as Superman's. Getting on Superman always takes a while as everyone loves that ride.
Crowds are horrible

depends on when you go to SFNE. while still crowded during the week it isnt as bad as it is on the weekends. Be prepared for a long wait for SROS since its still running one train. B:TDK also has a good wait sometimes, but the last few times ive been to the park it hasnt been bad.

Last time i went these were my wait times:

Scream - almost 30 mins
B:TDK - 30 mins or so
SROS - little over an hour
Cyclone - walk on
Flashback - walk on

and other rides about 10 - 15 mins.

This park is very crowded and busy. The Marvel Comics Area is totally packed in the summer. Are weekends really less busy than weekdays? I thought a Tuesday or Monday would have the least crowds.

I just got back from SFNE. Crowds were the worst I've seen them. Even worse than Memorial Day. I got there at 2 and left at 6. Rode S:ROS once with a 120 minute wait. Other waits were at the highs of their norms.

The surprising thing was most of their attractions were operating with the exceptions being the Spyder and the Ferris Wheel (which has been operating 0 times of my 4 visits).

Also, the red train for Superman was sitting there but without any dummies on it.

I also had the pleasure of reading some interesting graffiti while I was waiting for S:ROS including "Puerto Rico!, Niggazz 4 life, and Tayrone, you will always be in our memories." I assume Tayrone was gunned down at some point. These are just some examples of the fine individuals you are bound to come across during your visit to SFNE. Enjoy!!!

-Scream is hacking in 30 to 90 minute waits on average. If you even want to think about a ride on Scream then put it on the first things list.

-Batman is about a 20 to 45 minute wait during preseason unless you get there before opening. Get there early and you can rack up 4-8 rides on B:DK, even walk on front seat rides. It's a tough decision, multiple rides on B:DK or one of your few shots at a short line for S:ROS.

-Superman starts out at about a 30 minute wait in the morning and get worse until late afternoon when others start to leave or head to Rockaville for lunch, B:DK, Scream, and the late opening of Mind Eraser

-Flashback and Cyclone usually don't have more than a 20 minute waits in the preseason. Ride the woodies late when they're lit up and more enjoyable. Everybody is at B:DK, Thunderbolt, and S:ROS in the evening so that's the time to head for Cyclone and Flashback.

-Old Town Buggies(bumper cars) are hidden away and always have short lines

-Tomohawk and Houndini are always walk ons because nobody is in that part of the park(only part of the park without a coaster so nobody is there)

-Never seen a line for Poison Ivy Twisted Train, and with the world's longest train(sarcasm) I'll probably never see one

-With all the storms up here now, I'd try to get the Sky Ride, Superman, Sky Coaster, and Scream early before they take chances in closing down

-Count on having most of the water rides in rehab if your going in June

-Many flat rides are also finishing up maintainance(sp?) as well, so rides like the Joker and Rodeo are likely to be down. On the other hand, Batwing is always breaking down so get it early while it's in a good mood.

Define this preseason crap. Do you mean before peak season? If so, then preseason is officially over as far as I can see. I think the crowds I saw there today would agree with me.

Also, if you get there at open and Superman is operating, the wait is not even close to 30 minutes.

SFNE has been really rough crowd wise lately especially midweek right now. It seems like almost every middle/high school within a 100 mile radius has a field trip heading there midweek in late May/June. Many midweek days lately there are almost more buses in the parking lot than passenger cars. It *should* calm down a little midweek now that most schools are getting out and not as many camps/town rec programs have day trips as schools do. You'll pick up a little extra "mom taking the kids" traffic, but that's less folks through the gates than a bus.

Hey, calm yourself down boy, I know this park by the back of my sleeve. This isn't peak season yet. The crowds you saw were graduation groups and end of school year bashes, but that isn't peak season yet. I've been ther three times in the past two week and am going tomorrow. It's pretty crowded, but if you think this week is crowded comeback in July.

I'm calm. Tell me about these crowds I can expect in the future. I'd assume without all the buses the crowds should subside, no? Also, how are crowds late at night?
What are the crowds like on a Monday in July? would it be better than Tuesday or Wednesday?

I've not been able to tell if the park is really that crowded or if it's just really pathetic at handling the crowds. I think it's probably a combination of both. The park really isn't that big so it doesn't take all that many people to make it seem jammed because there just isn't that much real estate where people can spread out. Add that to the fact that they rarely run ALL rides and rarely run rides to full capacity and you have a pretty nasty situation on your hands. If you took SFNE's biggest crowd and tossed it into Great Adventure or Cedar Point, it'd probably be considered a light to medium crowd, not a sardine fest and long line fest like at SFNE.

Nights in July used to be packed when the park had the Nascar track, but that's gone now. There are not as many teen junkies as there used to be, but the North End of the park is usually empty at night, night crowds aren't as big as you would expect. The big crowds end around 5:00 PM.
