Six Flags New England 8/22/05!

Weather: Sunny and hot, 85-95 degrees.

Crowds: Moderate - heavy
Reason: Bring free buddy in August week + last week of summer = CROWDED PARK

Lines: Long (ride specific in report)

Food: Good, Had the philly cheese steak sandwich for the first time, very good. Also had Gelati which was good except i turned my cup to look at my watch and the ice cream on top fell right off...

Closed Rides: The usual, and the rock wall was closed and Spider was closed for awhile but I think reopened later on.

Other Closures: For some reason there were several places closed. TimberTown pasta/pizza, 1/2 of Crack Axle Canyon was closed, the candy shops and KETTLE CORN was closed which made me very angry because I wanted to take some home and they weren't open. Also various little games were closed throughout the park.

So onto the Report, me and four other people stayed at the Ludlow Country Inn which was a nice place, and we got to the park at about 9:55, heavy traffic getting onto the bridge near Springfield but after that no traffic.

Anyway got right in, no lines to enter and the park was already open, we went to get a Gold Q-bot and it was $150 for the 5 of us.

We rode Superman 8 times, including 5 in the last hour we were there (8:45 to 9:45). All day the ride has its line out side of the first covered que area (building) and full in the out side cover and many times it reached the second cover. Two trains all day and I didn't see any breakdowns. Ride was great as usual except the mist wasn't working in either tunnel. Also If anyone noticed the Superman has new storage bins in the station. Its these big shelf thing that has a sliding door and each door goes with the train. So there are two red and two blue "cubicals" and the op switches them over when a train comes in so no one can get their stuff stolen from another train, I thought it was a great idea and a nice touch, because of these the yellow information boards have been raised up several feet and you can see the darker blue paint below where they used to be.

Any way rode Batman, Mind Eraser, Cyclone, and Thunderbolt all once today. All where great but had long lines.

Thunderbolt all day had a full que and it was going outside of the que several times. Smooth as always though and that last hill is the BEST!

BatMan had a 25 minute wait all day untill the water park closed and then the line was huge, even the Q-bot had a 20 min wait to get on.

Mind Eraser's que was into the big building all day, two train op and didn't see any breakdowns but a little girl said in the Twister line that it broke down but I later saw it running again. Held my head to the right and it was a fun ride, awesome foot choppers!

Cyclone, Rode once and it was a walk on, we were the only people in the station, but then more came. Sat front row and it was great. Saw the board on the drop, front is never rough in that spot so i dont know what diffrence it made but none to the front and i actually had a really good ride, first trim wasn't on to hard and the ride is fast and relentless.

Scream used two towers all day and rode twice, line was huge later in the day and probably at least an hour. Great ride as always!

Flats that I rode today were Tomohawk which had a 3-4 load wait all day and went on Twister which had a 1-2 load wait today. Other flats were mobbed aswell. Every where people were eating so the park must have been making a fortune today and probably the rest of the week.

Mr Six, went on twice, broke down once but only for about 5-10 minutes and was up again. Fun as always and its very peppy. From all the times I've gone on its ususally a couple and the female is always scared of coasters and they ride it and have a great time, she told me they waited an hour and a 1/2 to ride. The line was huge all day long but the line now has fans that blow mist over it, didn't notice those before.

Blizzard River - Went on twice and it was awesome, line was in the entrance building all day so another huge one but no matter what you always got soaked on it because of that last building that makes sure you all get wet, great ride and all effects on, tons of mist so you cant see anything!

We purchased superman and the hour glass pictures, both offering season pass and regular discounts which is nice.

We went to the water park for 2 hours or so and lines were long, we did go on the slides behind tornado and also I went on that long green speed slide which was pretty scary, That platform is very high off the ground, great view of the park from there.

Typhoon had a huge line so didn't get to try, water park in general was packed. At 7 I was walking towards the water park and I have never seen so many people walking towards me, there must have been tons of people in the waterpark who stayed right untill it closed.

We left at around 10 and we had a good day, Q-bot made it enjoyble of course.

Thanks for reading!

Nice TR Mike, I will be there on Thursday. You should have got in line for Typhoon the line moves really fast if no breakdowns it takes 30mins with a full Q. The line for Pandemonium is to long and its been that way the whole season. I think its the 2nd most popular coaster in the park. I can't wait to see what the new coaster for next year is. Cyclone is always dead and since you rode it you know why!!! I won't post a TR since I'm going after work 6-10pm. I'll be at Lake Compounce tommorrow.
