SFNE and SFGADV help and advice needed

Andy - that is true when Compounce is open past 8pm but if you check their schedule you'll see in June [when gyjdnb is in the area] the park only has two nights closing later than 8pm [6/26 and 6/27].

Ouch. That throws a proverbial wrench in the convenience factor, as we'd probably be heading south from Boston back home to VA. Eh, I guess an hour back and forth won't hurt too much.

Actually, I just checked the park schedules for the day I'd be going, and SFNE is only open one hour longer than LC. As long as I can get at least a couple rides on S:RoS and BD, I'll be happy. By the way, how does LC's Wildcat compare to other mid-sized woodies?

Vater - Traffic in the Hartford area, especially weekdays during afternoon rush, can be brutal...try to do that drive only once if you can.

As for Wildcat, I've been visiting LC since 2000 and I've always felt Wildcat was extremely underrated. According to reports late last year LC was restoring Wildcat to it's original 1927 Schmeck profile...meaning that what was a fun coaster could potentially be a wild monster! I can't wait for the frist trip reports from Compounce to hear if it's true.

What day are you planning your visits for?

Ooooh. Nice to hear about Wildcat. :) If I go (which is about a 50/50 shot right now), I'd be heading back from Boston on Sunday, June 6th (which means I'd most likely lodge somewhere near LC and head home on Monday).

Well Hartford traffic shouldn't be too bad on a Sunday but you do run into another potential problem: crowds.

FYI, LC has some fine hotel choices on it's site, including the Centennial Inn [which also offers a room/park admission special].

Good luck ;)
