SFNE 8/9 and LOTS of park notes and news!

Associated parks:
None

I decided to go today, and weather wise it was pefect, got there at opening and got a Gold Q-bot. We got right into the park, all lanes were open if you will, well all booths, and we got right in.

Now before I go on to the Report I will discuss some things
The ride ops were very nice, I want to specially mention the Ride operator on Mind Eraser who kept commenting this was the best crew ever, after we got off, a good laugh, and quite possibly the best op ever working on Kontiki, As he checked restraints he'd say high five and he gave everyone a high five, and as everyone was getting off, he again gave everyone a high five. Funny and very friendly, I wish every one was like that @ SFNE.

So onto the notes...
- Kontiki seems to have recieved seat belts
- Chaos is in mid air and closed
- The closed side of Double Trouble has some head rests missing
- The box with chains hanging from the ceiling on Houdini have been REMOVED for some reason. Now the ride doesnt really have any affects.
- A small area of the que for S:RoS is taped off w/ Yellow caution tape
- The benches infront of Twister were being painted today (See SFNE is slowly improving its appearance)
- Cyclone running one train
- Last time Kontiki was full of leaves and litter on the floor, Today it was spotless, as if it was cleaned RIGHT before I got on, it looked great, I was very happy to see that.
- Flashback was down for 2 or 3 hours with mechanics all over the the brakes after the loop.
- Closed rides, Tea Cups and Chaos, and the barnstormer (timbertown) and a small ride near paul bunyans was also closed. So that definitly isn't bad, the park is trying hard.
- S:RoS had 4 ops checking restraints till atleast 5 but when I went back to the ride around 8ish only 2 ops were checking restraints, That really slowed down the load times, Not sure why they got rid of two of the very needed ops.
And thats all I can remember,

Food: Had a Gelati which @ less then $5 is a decent price for Six Flags, And we had lunch @ Big Ben's, Great HOT food, But annoying flys in the place some times. Great food though.

Staff - Parking money getter (?) was very friendly as was the people in the parking lot directing traffic and saying were to park, and the awsome guy on Kontiki and the guy on Mind Eraser were all funny and cool and very friendly. Almost everyone else had proper edicate, with the polite and sincere have a good day, and I hoped you enjoyed your ride etc etc. Some workers just looked like they were hating being there, but Very few looked like that. Also lots of sweepers going around.

Shows -
I never go to shows but the Illusion Quest peaked my interest and we watched it and it was a GREAT 1/2 hour show. I couldn't believe how good it was. Great tricks, awsome crowd interaction, the guy was very funny, and the tricks looked very cool, and it was just a great all around expirience, if you havn't been on it yet definitly check it out, this is coming from a person who hates to watch shows...It was great and A/C

Onto the Report
(The listed wait times are the regular line not Q-bot)
AFter the 1/2 hour wait to get the Q-bot we head for S:RoS
Total Rides: 5 - (dark - Second car first row and back seat) and (Day - 2 back seat rides and one FRONT seat ride)
Average wait: Roughly an hour all day!
Trains: 2 all day with NO break downs all day!!
Rating: 9/10, Running great and it definitly got its popularity back it seems with a long line ALL day.

Scream
Total Rides: 2 (Tower closest to S:RoS) Combo mode
Average wait: Roughly an hour all day
Rating: 9/10
Great two rides on it and its running great, Love combo mode!!

ThunderBolt
Total Rides: 1 :'(
Average wait: 45 mins all day
Trains: 1
Rating: 8.5/10
Running great like usual this year, that new wood really made a diffrence it seems, the ride was smooth, we sat in the middle.

FlashBack
Total Rides: 1
Average wait: 5-25 mins
Trains: 1
Rating: 7/10
The ride was down for around 3 hours and reopened around 7 and was running pretty good compared to usually and only hit my head 3 times, so it was decent and actually pretty fun. The ride doesn't jerk as much when it goes up the second hill like it used to. Mechanics were swarmed all over the brakes after the loop while it was down.

Cyclone
Total Rides: 1
Average wait: walk on - 50 mins
Trains: 1
Rating: 7/10
Sat in the second car and got a decent but still rough ride. Anyone who says this ride is smooth up front must be kidding, it is smoother then the back but not smooth by any means. That second major drop near the station is a killer, and the trims were all on, the ride was screeching again. Only one train and the operator of the ride looked like he wanted to take a running leap off the platform.

Mind Eraser -
Total Rides: 2
Average wait: 10 mins (around 11) to 1 1/2 hours durin the day
Trains: 2!
Rating: 8/10!!!
Well I think I finally did it. I found my own special way of riding this ride and enjoying it! I tried something new and it worked well. I pressed my head to the right the whole ride and didnt have ANY headbanging, but the second try I got some, but the ride is very fun if you dont hit your head. And I looked up at one of the wheels on the side and at one point near the brakes it was an INCH AWAY from the track. It didnt spin for like 20 seconds...Ran two trains all day and ran with no problems.

B:DK
Total Rides: 2
Average wait: 20-60 mins!!
Trains: 2 all day with no breakdowns
Rating: 8/10
The ride looks great still and the misters were working, the line was quite long and the ride itself is fun and even intense on some parts but the train is starting to shake a lot and that damn little trim before the zero G roll is annoying. I also got head banging a lot in the corkscrews, and this was @ like 4 or 5 so its not like it wasn't warmed up or anything.

Poison Ivy's Tangled Train
Total Rides: 1
Average wait: 10 mins
Trains: 1 mile long train
Rating: 7/10
The ride looks great, the track disappears in all the brush and trees and greenery, I love the way its now hidden, looks awsome!
Thats it for coasters, Now onto the other rides!

Didn't Ride a lot of rides, like Collosus, Double Trouble, Spider, Tomohawk, Rodeo, Scrambler, kiddie rides, Great Chase, Ship Wreck Falls, Sky ride, Joker, Nightwing, Carousel, Bumper cars, They were all open all day though!
I did go on...
Buzzsaw - 8/10....Somewhat short cycle but it was fun, needs paint though. How do they get that realistic wood looking paint??
Twister - Running a cool program with lots of flips, VERY loud screech though thats very annyoing. 8/10, 5 minute wait.
Wave Swinger - 8/10, One cycle wait, the ride was fun and very soothing. The cycle before mine some kid fell asleep on the ride!
Houdini - 6/10...The chains now longer work and are removed, and no longer hang from the ceiling, That sucks that they for some reason took that out.
TIMEWARP!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY, I finally got on this ride and wow, its GREAT, I didn't think it would be as fun as it was, great ride, only problem is the LONG loading time, very fun though.
Blizzard River - 9/10, This ride is so much fun, Every water effect was working and I made sure that I waved @ every employee who was waving @ me, They are very friendly and ALWAYS wave wether anyone acknowledges them or not. Got soaked and the line for the ride was OUT OF THE BUILDING near Time Warp @ one point, atleast 90 minute wait all day!!

Well we left that park @ 9:15 and that was that, Thanks for reading and I hoped you enjoyed!!!

SAM

Thanks for the comment, I agree with you to, I dislike the reports that just bash certain things but dont comment on everything.

Well you sit down and you buckle up an orange seat belt, and you then pull down your lap bar and on the handle in the front of the lab bar their is another seat belt that you buckle to the outside of the train.

Mike you missed the parts about the ankle pads, the bars on either side of the t-bar, and the loop at the end of the seatbelt that they pull real tight.
Basically, there is a bigger bulkier and shorter seatbelt. There are two bars going from the T-bar to the floor and they are on both sides of your legs. So your legs fit in between the middle of the T-bar and those bars on the sides. There are also shin restraints which resgtrict leg movement greatly and are the worse part of the new restraints. Then they have a belt that goes from the handle of the t-bar to the side of the train. If this belt can't be buckled, you are too big to ride.

Hope that helped.
