SFNE 8/19, Crowded!!!!!

Associated parks:
None

I left my house at 8:30 and expected to get to the park by 10:30. Due to traffic in Springfield we didn't end up pulling into the parking lot until 11:15. The entire parking lot was full so we had to park in their stupid dirt parking lot. After getting into the park I couldn't believe how crowded it was. I had never seen it like this. You could hardly move there were so many people.

Well first I went to check the line for S:RoS. After seeing the line was about 1 1/2 to 2 hours we decided to get a Q-bot for the first time. The line for the Q-bot was at least 40 minutes! We stood in it anyway and it was well worth it through out the day.

First, I used the Q-bot on S:RoS. It was about an hour. Not too bad considereing the line was well over that. It was the same awesome ride as always.

Next I reserved Batman. About a half an hour. Got the front for the first time. It seems like it's running rougher than usual. After I got off there was still time left on the Q-bot so I got a second ride which was awesome.

After that I reserved Cyclone. Though the regular line was at least 45 minutes the Q-bot only gave me five minutes! I got on it and was glad to see two trains running. Got the front row. I hate those stupid trims!

Next came Scream. The q-bot gave me 30 minutes. They were running all three towers! I went on the Space Shot one. It was okay. The only good part is when you get the pop of air at the top. The combo is way better of course.

I went to reserve S:RoS again next. It gave me 1 hour and 30 minutes so I cancelled it.

Went to ME instead. The Q-bot gave me only 30 minutes. I got front row. For some reason all of a sudden I like this ride a lot. The G's are so much more intense than Batman. And it seems a lot faster too. There was still time on the Q-bot so I got a second ride. Got second row. When I got off there was 1 minute left on the Q-bot so I ran back in line for a third ride. Even though it was over 10 minutes after my time by the time I got up on the ramp the guy checking the Q-bots still let me on. Got third row this time. Wow three rides in a row for waiting 30 minutes. Q-bots are awesome!

After that we decided to leave. Overall it wasn't too bad of a day considering all the people. I will never go to SFNE and not get a Q-bot again! I'm not standing in line like an idiot anymore.

you spent $24 and STILL had to wait an hour for superman? if qbot didnt exist the line would probaby be that short anyways.

sfne's mind eraser hurt me and my girlfriend horribly, my head got slammed around a ton and the restraint was loose and slamming against my chest. what a pos. good you had fun on it though.

the park is nice, but it cant really handle large crowds too well. and superman is outstanding.

I've been to SFNE a few times. Superman is a great ride, incredible even. But they don't manage the park well at all, and the rides are in a state of disrepair. The queues for the rides are filthy, and Flashback, Mind Eraser and Cyclone are massive head-bangers. Cyclone beat the crap out of me. And Flashback and Mind Eraser smashed my head so hard I thought I had a concussion. Batman's a good ride but it's much too short. You're back in the station in a minute or less. The rest of the rides are, ehh, average. The park is poorly designed and suffers from lack of repair. When I went in July, the sign for The Great Chase (the kiddie coaster in the looney toons area) was missing most of its letters! The park needs serious help, and if the other Six Flags parks are like this, I will further question the reason why they are hailed so much. The new Hurricane Harbor is easily the best part about it, as it is new. But I wouldn't be surprised if in a few years, the water park is just as shoddy as the rest of the park. Another thing about the water park is that it is awkward to get into. It creates massive bottlenecks near Batman and can make things even more crowded and confusing. Bottom line, Batman and Superman are the best rides (no doubt), but the park otherwise is fair to poor.

Yeah, I hate the head-banging on Cyclone! Damn those OTSR's!

Anyway, SFNE is a nice park that certainly seems to be getting a lot more popular (to state the obvious).

I don't know what it was about ME that day. I went on it last 2 years ago and vowed never to go on it again because of the massive headbanging. But we brought my uncle to the park that day and he had never been there before so I thought we would ride ME. I kept my head to one side of the restraint and I didn't hit my head once. Also, the front is less rough then any other seat. It is so much more intense then Batman and feels so much faster.

Flashback isn't as bad as other Boomerangs.

They've replaced those Great Chase letters.

Darth Dustin: How can you get headbanging on a coaster with lap bars?

The bottom line about SFNE is without Superman it would be nothing. It isn't that bad of a park though.

Oh sorry, I meant spinal-twistage. And you're quite right about Superman. That and Batman are all the park has going for it. And those Coke ads are pretty annoying as well.

I went on ME a few weeks ago, and for some reason I liked it as well, having not liked it before. Dunno lol. Getting beat up on Cyclone is 1/2 the fun ;).

SFNE has added QBot Gold which I've rented 3 times already and ridden Superman about 20 times with a maximum wait of 6 minutes (time from reserving till entering the Loading platform). Cost $15/person (no discount for season passholders). If travelling from a distance spend the extra bucks and get on the recently crowned (by Amusement Today's Golden Ticket awards) #1 Steel Coaster on the planet.
I visited SFNE the first time this year and didn't find half of those things you did. I thought my ride on ME was rather good for an SLC. Also, I thought Cyclone was a little rough, but not as bad as my Villain or RWB. But, S:RoS is the BEST coaster I have ever been on. In two days I managed 13 rides because of a rainy day.
If you want the gold Q-Bot you better get there early. They are always sold out by like 10:30-11:00.
