I went to Six Flags New England yesterday and the part was operating even better in week two than week one. First I went on the carousel with some friends and man this carousel is in a really nice looking building and is very pretty in the front of the park. Second we headed over to the Cyclone so I could finally try out the retracking. What I noticed right away was that the Cyclone had no line and was running two trains! So I quickly got on the Cyclone and all I have to say is that the retracking has made this ride soooo much better. The first drop sequence still has intensity but it's sooooo much smoother now and the second half is much faster instead of a heavily braked slow half like last year. After the Cyclone I headed over to Houdini's Great Escape which is a really cool dark ride. You have no clue where you are on this ride at all times. After that we did the usual various rides. Scream was as usual awesome and they were running the combo programs again. Flashback was finally open. Superman was running two trains. Twister was open this week. I came away from SFNE feeling really satisfied with my day.

sigh, SFNE goes "tiny" for 2001
How did Superman compare to last year? Do you think it has aged at all, or is it just as incredible as always?
I love hearing Cyclone still has intensity in the first drop. AND that the second half is faster; last year it fairly creeped IMO. Can I believe what I read about NO LINE and TWO TRAINS running? That combination never occured in the past...unless the trains were empty! So that is great Cyclone news to me, if it keeps up thru the season. Maybe I will love this white monster again...things "cooled off" there for awhile. Thanks for the report.
